The book to read if success matters to your organization
This is not a pop culture business book. This book is a practitioner’s handbook. Formulating and executing strategy is tough work. Measuring performance allows you to see how you’re doing, and forces you to keep an eye on what’s changing in, on and around your organization. The Nine Steps for Success presented in “The Institute Way” provides a roadmap to follow. The book is good for thinking critically and practically about your strategic management needs and efforts.

Useful balanced scorecard guide for beginners
A very useful guide for implementing the balanced score-card. A step-by-step approach that lays out how a company, institution or other organisation should build their vision, strategic themes, strategic objectives, strategy maps, measurements and initiatives around the balanced scorecard. Also provides useful advice on how to successfully implement a scorecard. Well-written in easy to understand language. It would have been nice to see more detailed examples of balanced scorecards for actual organisations but overall extremely useful for people/organisations implementing a balanced scorecard for the first time.

Everything you wanted to know about strategic planning but you were afraid to ask
I am still reading the book which is excellently structured and very detailed. As I already have experience with another strategic planning framework called the “One Page Strategic Plan”, I started browsing through the glossary at the end of the book and I am still ecstatic!

Exceptionally well-crafted strategic planning work that will be a reference for decades
Exceptional work that links the Balanced Scorecard with a newer and more comprehensive framework. One of the most valuable offerings of strategy is to connect higher level concepts, needed to influence and enable senior executives, with tactical action-oriented steps, which the front line can implement, all the while mapping to critical measures and targets. This book will be a reference for both academics and practicing strategy consultants like myself for years to come.

OK
I have read books on Hoshin Kanri before reading this one.I expected more example and more clarity compared to the other books. The method is good .The Kindle version was difficult to go through which did influence my score of 2 on 5.If you wish to read this, get the printed copy,

Painful Read!
The learnings from this book can be gained from Appendix C, alone. The content is good but it makes for a very laborious read. I would have liked to see more applicability at the Tier 2 level, for which I did not find the book prescriptive enough.

Useful!
Very helpful! It provides examples and schemes you can directly use in your context. It also provides you a good way to represent and transfer the strategy to the organization.

Great book showing a powerful way to align an organization!
I liked the book and felt it was a thorough "How to manual" to help organizations start along a more strategic path. I plan on using this methodology while working with Canadian SME's in my consulting practice.
