A Delightful Surprise!
I absolutely loved this novel. It’s so rare that I can find a book where the H actually looks and acts like an alien. To be honest I was really getting tired of the same old story lines repeated by various authors with no real substance to the characters. I loved the H, Arokh, the way his character was carved out and the details given to him. The author crafted a wonderfully detailed story, with many different alien races and customs and traditions. I was very pleased with the length of the story, the alternating points of view, and the world building.Angie is kidnapped from Earth while sleeping wakes up to being auctioned to an array of alien creatures that will either, work/F or kill and eat her. Arokh, a gladiator, rescue’s her from a horrible fate mistaking her screams of terror for those of a Gyrfala. A female dominate, elite and revered species who are normally protected by a cadre of male’s. They run for their lives and struggle to survive the perils of the auction planet while trying to escape from the world.I was enthralled from beginning to end and I am anxious for the next novel. I am really hoping that the author writes a book about Arokh’s bigger brother, Zadeon, who bonded with the female character who was dubbed “Weepy.”

Strangely sweet and endearing; a definite diamond in the rough sort of book!
Before we get into my review, I gotta say it. The cover is a little awful (also, I have the yellow drawing cover not the August 2017 updated one; which is better but still not exactly my cup of tea--I don't know if the older cover will ever update or not). I won't beat up on it too much, since the author is self-publishing and there comes a certain territory with that, but I will say that it initially did turn me away. However, since I kept seeing a huge amount of 4 and 5 star reviews and saw that this book was only just 99 cents and was also 400 pages (I kind of make a rule to not buy a kindle book that's under 200 pages; otherwise I feel like I'm not getting much for my money, you know?) I decided it was worth a shot to download and try.And like a lot of other reviewers said, despite the cover, this is a pretty great book if you're into alien stories (which I am). This book actually has a lot in common with some other titles I like (and by that I mean themes/vibes, not like they rip off one another!) such as Transcendence by Shay Savage and Ruth's Bonded by V.C. Lancaster (the only difference is that, in this book, eventually Arokh and Angie can speak to each other, whereas the two prior books have to communicate in other ways the entire time). A lot of the book is dedicated to alternating POVs where we see our two leads, Angie and Arokh, figure out one another and develop feelings. There's a bit of a plot, but this is mostly a character driven thing, intended to showcase their relationship first and other things second.Arokh was sweet and good; just the kind of lead I like! He cared a lot about Angie and had a lot of reservations in place--he was afraid of overstepping, always very conscious of her wants and needs, and when there's doubt planted in his mind that Angie might not be considered mature/an adult, he backs away in absolute shame for engaging in intimate things with her, thinking he corrupted her and did something horrible. He came across as very honorable and affectionate and didn't ever strike me as a doormat or anything like that. There's a big emotional journey for him between what he's been taught to do and what he wants to do and it's nice to see him resolve his feelings and find happiness. Angie was also pretty likeable and I rooted for her. My only qualm with her was sometimes the language she used; I don't know, sometimes certain traits of modern English come across so jarring in books, it was a little bit of a bother but that's on me as a preference and not really a flaw in the story/writing.Some people might kind of throw up an air of disbelief that Angie could so quickly resign herself to being with an alien who clearly isn't human (what with the tail, horns, fire-breath, spikes, etc), but this is fiction and a sci-fi fantasy that isn't trying to be hyper-realistic, just tell a good story with a lot of fun, different elements to it. If you can get past that, this is really quite a sweet, fun, engaging read. I devoured all 400 pages in a few hours and loved every minute. Now, as a warning, the book starts off with Angie in the midst of being sexually assaulted and while her attackers don't succeed in penetrating her and Angie seems to recover from it all without too much issue since Arokh intervened before too much could happen and immediately set to soothing and taking care of her, I just want to put it out there for anyone who might want to know! It's over with very fast right at the beginning, but it is there, and later we are introduced to a character who was not so fortunate (her story is covered in book #2 and deals more with recovering from that trauma) we aren't given explicit/intense details. The series also follows a slightly similar pattern to the Ice Planet Barbarians series in that there are several people in this tale we're introduced to--both humans and aliens--whose stories we'll follow up in the next books as they get pared with each other. There might be a larger plot introduced that weaves itself into all the stories or something, or we might just have a bunch of stories about aliens and humans finding love and acceptance and happiness, either way, I think I'm going to keep an eye on the series and hope for more great tales of love between these sweet, affectionate aliens and a collection of women from earth.I definitely recommend if you think the general plot is interesting, or you liked either of the two books I listed before!

Fantastic
Honestly I bought this book and did not read it for weeks I was not expecting much, boy was I wrong. I absolutely loved it. Arokh, a sexy Rakhii gladiator saves Angie from being raped by a band of disgusting aliens and in doing so sets off a crazy ride through space. Angie who is at first scared to death soon learns that he means her no harm but he and all the aliens around them think she is a Gryfala one of the most rare and sought after species in the galaxy. Angie and Arokh have to outrun slave traders and Hobs aliens that mate reverse harem style with a Gryfala and want her for their own. The chemistry between Arokh and Angie is out of this world and they become bonded to each other but can their love survive this strange new universe? I cant believe this Amanda Milos first book the world building is incredible and the characters likable and well written I already bought the next in the series and will be anxiously awaiting more.

A little lacking but an "ok" Sci-fi Romance
What I liked -The "book" cover was greatAliens that actually "look" like aliens. There seemed to be a connection that developed between the protagonists (not insta-love but it was quick)The duel points of view seemed to work well in this storyWhat I didn't really care for -Plot was a bit slow/drawn out in spotsBedroom scenes were just OkCharacter definition and development could have been a lot betterEnvironmental descriptions/ world building could have been better by being a bit more detailed. There was no cliffhanger however the ending left me with questions.Spoiler alert below!!!Did Angie and Arokh stay on the planet with the hobs for the rest of of their lives? The reader was lead to believe that families were important so I was surprised they didn't leave after their time was up. A brief description of their new living arrangements would have been nice. I know it had a bed...that's about it.What happened to Beth and her men? Did they escape after the hobs captured the human women and their mates? It was mentioned that one ship got away but not which one.

Amazing debut novel by this author!!!
I just LOVED this story and I couldn't believe this was the first book released by this author all I can say is WOW AWESOME JOB keep them coming!!! The saying never judge a book by its cover definitely applies to this book because the first time I came across it I dismissed it cause of the cover. But after reading the blurb I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad that I did, polished this baby in two days I just couldn't put it down! The story begins with our leading alien male Arokh a Rakhii gladiator who while on an auction planet hears a woman's distressed screams and goes to her rescue. Upon rescuing her he believes her to be a kidnapped Gryfala princess and he assumes the responsibility and role as guard and protector but all is not what it seems as Angie our leading lady is really just a human. Arokh was just the sweetest, kindest, adorable, loving, caring, affectionate male leads I've ever read. I was blown away by him and fell in love with his character from the very beginning, he was literally a knight in shining armor (or scales lol). Saving her in her time of need without asking anything from her in return, he went above and beyond to keep her safe and try to get her back to her home planet. Deliciously alpha male and sexily possessive the way he had to constantly touch her, smell her, lick her and have her close ticked all my fantasy male qualities leaving me feeling all warm inside; he was absolute PERFECTION. There would definitely be happier women and couples if men actually read these books and got a good glimpse on what women truly need and want from their man at least I think so lol. Ow and those wonderfully intimate moments between Arokh and Angie HOT DAMN were they blood pressure raising and heart rate elevating leaving you needing a cold shower ASAP! Their chemistry was undeniable, their passion intense, their depth of love for one another palpable a heart warming tale. And our leading lady Angie was so sweet, kind, caring, brave and funny too. The things that came out of her mouth sometimes had me laughing, she had a great personality, beauty and brains the complete package. She was able to look past our heros appearance (not an easy fete considering he has scales, horns and a tail) to see the kind wonderful person he truly was proves just what a kind-hearted woman she was. An epic sci-fi tale full of action, adventure, love, passion, drama and suspense their was never a dull moment in this book and even though their are some silly grammatical mistakes and its strange cover nothing can put a damper on this beautiful story.

FANTASTIC FICTION DEBUT NOVEL
I just LOVED this story and I for one could not believe that this was the first book released by this author all I can say is WOW AWESOME JOB keep them coming!!! Second book already bought and will not sit in my "TBR" pile for long, You've heard of the sayings, such as never judge a book by its cover or beauty is skin deep then these definitely apply to this book, you only have to look at the cover , maybe the first time I came across it I dismissed it because of the cover., My mistake and so glad I rectified it, But last night I wanted something different, (after reading a rash of books were women are abused and then forgive their abusers, so getting fed up with these books ) After reading the blurb I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad that I did, Pulled another straight through for this incredibly awesome book, I just couldn't put it down! Saving her in her time of need without asking anything from her in return, he went above and beyond to keep her safe and try to get her back to her home planet. A wickedly Delicious fantastic alpha male and so very sexily possessive the way he had to constantly touch her, smell her. The constant licking her, his need to have her close ticked all my fantasy male qualities leaving me feeling all warm and gooey inside; he was absolute the best leading male I have read in very long time. In my opinion if more authors wrote their leading men like this, instead of the horrid scumbags we seem to be inundated with, I would love it. There would definitely be happier women and couples if men actually read these books and got a good glimpse on what women truly need and want from their men at least that's my take on the subject. The wonderfully intimate moments between Arokh and Angie HOT DAMN it wasn't dick this or dick that, yet managed to raise my blood pressure, get my heart racing it wsn't overly graphic but yet managed to leave you needing a cold shower ASAP! Then panting for more, Their chemistry was undeniable, their passion intense, their depth of love for one another palpable a heart warming tale. Our leading lady Angie was so sweet, kind, caring, brave and funny too. The things that came out of her mouth sometimes had me laughing, she had a great personality, beauty and brains the complete package. She was able to look past our heroes appearance (not an easy fete considering he has scales, horns and a tail) to see the kind wonderful alien he truly was proves just what a woman needs is not actually external but has to come from within, This is an epic SY-FY-tale full of action, adventure, love, passion, drama and suspense their was never a dull moment in this book and even though their are some silly grammar mistakes which normally ticks me off and its strange cover but nothing and I mean nothing can put a damper on this beautiful story. The secondary characters in particular the two hops one in particular the scene had me in tears, no spoilers, I promise, The Character and scene setting on this book are incredible. for me this is the Science Fiction book of the Week.Well done Amanda Milo

Nope... not a good one
Somewhere in the 38 chapters of this book there was a story but it was lost and bogged down within a ton of mindless drivel that had me cross eyed. The base of the story was quite good, even if the alien was a bit too much alien for me. How I got through the half of the book where they could not communicate with each other is beyond me.The fact that it was written in the first person really didn't help it at all and several times I had to go back to the chapter title to figure out who was speaking. The only reason I gave it two stars and not one was because I think there was a good story in there somewhere but it was really hard to find.

Took me by surprise
This book hit me by surprise. I was expecting the usual fluffy little story of earth woman gets captured (rescued?) by alpha alien. Mrs Milo took that premise and turned it into an amazing non-stop action ride across planets and genres (historical, gladiators, science fiction). Changing narration between a hunk with spikes and a spunky heroine she introduces us to a host of unique environments including a futuristic slave planet and a matriarchal society based on a reverse harem concept. Plagued by their conflicting cultures and communication barriers the couple have to fight them all. The story grabs you from the start and takes you on an interplanetary adventure with hot protagonists and steamy sex scenes. Despite a few editing mishaps it reads well and Angie and Arokh’s story is a keeper on my shelf.

A definite re-read!
Just finished reading and I absolutely loved it! Had me laughing out loud. Having previously read badly written 'alien man and human female' type stories, I took a look at the cover and was very sceptical but it was totally worth it. The story is well written and I didn't skip any of the internal monologues. The relationship between the main characters develops at a good pace, its not too sappy/lovey-dovey and has few instances of that prolonged staring into each other eyes crap. I was seriously disappointed when the book finished. Will be buying the other two books (hopefully they won't disappoint).
