Beginner Grower, Lots of Seeds Grew!
Sprinkled (I think that's broadcasting? I'm a beginner!) some seeds into a 18" x 5" container with Miracle Gro potting mix. I feel like almost all the seeds I sprinkled into the container are growing because I have about 30-40 sproutlings after a few weeks from planting the seeds with some at about 1 1/2" tall. I'm actually a little concerned I don't have enough space for how many grew!Containers are outdoor in full sun during some times of the day and shade during other times. Zone 9-10 (SoCal) and planted (without soaking the seeds for 24 hours prior) the seeds during mid Summer so it's pretty warm/hot. Growing well! One concern, I have a lot of ants coming to my plants and I'm not sure what is attracting them. Maybe it's the plant food in the Miracle Gro or something from the plants. The ants don't seem to be affecting growth of plants though.

Germinated quickly and looking good so far!
Followed the instructions and they germinated in 4-5 days! I've never grown anything from seed before and I don't have a particularly green thumb, so I consider this a great miracle. I live in a VERY dry climate so for the first 7-10 days I covered the top with plastic wrap to keep things from drying out too quickly. Spritzed them gently with a water bottle once a day. I over-sowed the seeds and now I've got what looks like a Chia Pet going on, but I'll thin them out over the next couple of weeks as needed. So far so good!

Not Ao Shiso.
I bought 2 packets and both of them had Egoma (Korean perilla?) seeds inside. Egoma looks like Ao Shiso but has a different taste and aroma. Ao Shiso seeds are darker brown and smaller, whereas Egoma seeds are whiter and larger like in the pic. I want my money back.

Great flavor !!!!
Fantastic green shiso seeds!! Leaves are soft, thin & yummy!! Perfect for Sushi or any Japanese cuisine. (Don’t forget to soak seeds in water for 1/2 day, before spread over the soil.)

Not chirimen ao shiso
These sprouted well, but as others have said in reviews from this year, this is not the same shiso as in previous seasons. The company answered a question on this listing two years ago stating that this is chirimen (ruffled) shiso, and a customer photo from September 2021 confirms the same. However, the seeds sold this year have flat leaves, less jagged edges, and a different flavor from the shiso served with Japanese dishes. I assume this is Korean perilla (kkaennip).

Germinated quickly, but needs full sun
I planted half of the seeds in a sunny area and half in an area that receives a lot of shade. The seeds in the sunny area germinated quickly and grew well. The seeds in the shady area didn't grow at all. Next year, I'll buy more but be more careful about where I plant them.

Great seeds
I have tried to start shiso from seeds in the past and was disappointed in the sprouting time. These are wonderful! I saw sprouts within one week and they are growing nicely indoors.

No flavor…
I’ve planted this for a couple of seasons and the plants grew well, but the leaves had almost zero flavor. Nothing like what I had from the green leaves that I had while I lived in Japan. Perhaps it’s a different variety or maybe it needs to be treated differently like peppers if you want them to be extra spicy. Not sure, but the flavor did not meet expectations.
