These reach extremely far and are very sturdy. Perfect for kids.

They will absolutely roast a marshmallow or a hotdog and they are decently long. What wasn’t the best for me is they are a little thinner than others I’ve had, I’m hoping they hold up.

We had an outdoor hotdog roast for 20 young adults and I wanted to make sure there were plenty of roasting sticks. I like that they are telescoping so they can be long for roasting at the fire, or compact for storage. They seemed a bit thin, but they worked well for what we needed and should last for several meals at the fire.

I had a camping trip coming up a few months back. As everyone knows, you can't go camping without making s'mores over a campfire. In the past, we have just used random sticks and skewers to roast marshmallows, but since we go camping fairly often, I thought it would be worth it to invest in some decent roasting sticks. I was in the market for 4 sticks as we almost never go camping with more than 4 people. I looked on Amazon and noticed that many packs come with 8 or 10 or even 12 sticks in this case. The packs I did find that had maybe 4 sticks cost either the same or more than this set. I figured it would be fine to have extras just in case, so I decided to get this 12 pack.The camping trip comes and I make sure to pack these in the car. On the first night we decided to roast marshmallows so I pulled theses out. They were great at first! They collapse down so they don't take up much space, but they telescope out quite far, giving you a safe buffer between the fire, something that was an issue in the past using kabob skewers. After we were done, one of my friends collapsed his skewer back down, but in the process completely bent and broke it! He said he didn't use that much force, but I didn't really think much of it since I had 11 more. The next night we decide to do the same. I take out the same 3 that were previously used and a new one for the friend who broke his. When I go to expand mine, one telescoping segment pops out. I didn't use much force at all. I tried getting it back in, but to no avail. On closer inspection, the metal used is very thin and flimsy, which would explain how my friend accidentally bent his. I still had 10 left, so I just grabbed a new one and it worked for the night, but I now understand why they sell these in such large packs. You're going to need backups!Overall, these get the job done, but use them gently as they are quite fragile. Generally I expect camping supplies to be a little more durable or rugged, but these need to be treated delicately. It's a good thing they come in such large packs because you're going to need the extras!
