A thing of beauty
If you enjoy graphic novels then this has quickly become my favorite. From the embossed cover the the beautiful artwork printed on thing, glossy pages. Wonderful. I picked this up after watching the Netflix adaptation so I am hoping the reprint volume three which seems scarce.

VERY different from the Netflix adaptation. NOT A BOOK I would like kids to read.
Awful. Horrible for kids. I would not give this book for kids I care about. I bought this book because I really loved the Locke & Key series on Netflix, and my 11 year old niece who loves to read and draw has not seen the series, so I thought this book was a wonderful gift idea for her.I was wrong and good thing I tried to read it before I wrapped it. This graphic book is so unlike the mysterious and kid-friendly Netflix series. This book is gruesome, and the wordings horrible, street gangster talk with many profanity language and obscene words. (SEE PHOTOS!) I am shocked. Netflix has improved this story a lot. The characters of this graphic book (including the 3 main characters, the kids/siblings who were portrayed in the movie as good school kids) were drawn looking like street kids, with horrible tired eyes and… they look like awful people with bad vices, NOT sending good influence vibe for the kids. This IS NOT something I want my nieces or nephews to read. I am terribly disappointed. My tip, just enjoy watching it on Netflix. Don’t bother with the book, unless you are an adult who has a thing for violence and weirdly illustrated horror… I am leaving this review as a small warning for parents, this book isn’t for young kids.

Labeled new had small tiny scratch on the cover
Book and images are perfect and new. Just one tiny scratch on the bottom right of the back of the cover itself. Book label new but had only this tiny scratch on it. I love this book and will give it 5 stars overall.

Shipping ruined this for me
After 4 attempts to get this book undamaged, I gave up. Shipping would just put the book in a box with 1 airbag if lucky. The book came majorly damaged. From what little I read, it feels so much better than the show.

Great book. The definitive printing.
Two things to review here; first the story, and you might already know this as I did;Locke & Key starts by introducing you to the *Locke* family and a house called the *Keyhouse*. And some *keys*. This led me to put it down once. I was an idiot. Get past that bit, and you're introduced to a pantheon of loveable, identifiable characters and an amazing story arc that teaches you how to love each and every one, even the villains. And then it will break your heart, again and again, and you'll still be glad you read it. No spoilers, but this isn't X-Men with endless stories and characters that never die, never learn and only grow thorough acquiring new powers; every character has an arc, each arc is special and many arcs end. The story itself ends, and this is a third of it.It's been described as "horror" and it is, because every chapter you're worried for your little fictional buddies. As it should be. Reading further into Joe Hill's ancestry goes some way to explaining the pedigree it but I'm not going to mention names here; Hill went out of his way to literally make a name for himself, and by god he has. Read it. The art seemed a little airbrushed and goofy for the tone initially, but after the first chapter they married perfectly in my mind. Maybe it got better. More likely I did.Now the printing. This printing itself is spectacular. I'd already read these books, or at least many of them, as part of a Humble Bundle deal a while back. But having loved it I wanted a physical medium, and one that the comic deserved; not, if possible, some knackerable trade paperback set, something I could lend to friends that commanded the proper respect. This is that book. It's pleasingly hefty yet compact, the covers are tastefully matte and embossed, it's got one of those ribbons that nobody knows what to do with. Class. The paper stock inside is immaculate, with some plans, diagrams and sketches to help you visualize the house and island. It's clear that they wanted to produce the definitive edition that represented the best quality they could produce. Well, that's a lie. There is a higher quality, or at least larger, edition available. It costs a hundred and eighty pounds. That should help make £25 seem reasonable.Expensive, but worth every penny. Now I'm just waiting for Volume 2 and 3 to be published.

Loved it!
I am a huge fan of Joe Hill, and this does not disappoint. Unique style of writing and art work, I absolutely love the concept, and it is a horrifying book in places - I recommend for any horror fan!

Locke & Key, Vol 1... Spookily Superb
Nicely presented edition of a great little supernatural gem from the son of Stephen King. Great art that bellies the dark (and often surprisingly adult) nature of the story. I'm so glad that the new Netflix series has given me the kick I needed to finally read these.
