Highwild AR500 Steel Shooting Target with 2x4 Target Hanger

Good quality target

Used this at the gun club the other day. I shot 22 rim fire, 38/357, and 454 Casull at this gong. It holds up nicely. I bought the 2x4 version of this gong because targets like this can get shot up very easily. I bought two 10 foot 2x4 at the lumber yard and had them cut in half. A five foot target stand is perfect for this gong. I also made patterns for what I would need in case a 2x4 gets cut in half by a bullet. With the two 10 foot 2x4 cut in half and a pattern to fit the target, i can half and extra 2x4 to take along to the gun club to repair this gong target if one 2x4 get's destroyed. Anyone shooting at the gun range knows exactly what I am talking about. You just need a few tools to take this target apart and replace a bad 2x4.

This is a well-designed target system that will take a punch and should last you for years. Since the target is hung on a bolt with a heavy spring, the spring absorbs the bullet energy and the angle of the target deflects the bullet (or shrapnel) downward. You'll be safe from ricochet. It's perfect. Just repaint after use and you'll be ready to go.

Had a buddy accidentally shoot it with green tip with no ill effects.

I call the target “Mickey”.. let me tell you what I’ve thrown everything at it. Thousands of rounds of 9mm, .22, .223, .308, 44mag, 12ga slugs and 17hmr. (50 yards and out for 12ga, 308, 223). Out of the package I was impressed with the hardware and the design. The plate is angled a few degrees down eliminating stray projectiles, ultimately directing the bullets to the ground. Further, the plate has some give from a sturdy spring cushioning a good portion of the impact and helping force projectiles down. The powder coat stood up a good while considering the circumstances. I periodically spray paint it with whatever color I’m in the mood for. I do on the backside (all the hardware and spring are) spray heavy lithium grease to prevent rusting and for future ease of disassembly. Hope this helps, good luck.

I should have done more research because I try to avoid buying products made in China. That's on me. Good product. Works as designed and described. The price is right.

I bought the smaller size to hone in my shooting skills. The target fits perfectly into a 2x4 nicely. I bolted the 2x4 into two 4x4's for the base for sturdiness when shooting.The angle of the target makes it so you get very little to no shrapnel back from your shots, which is great. There's nothing like shooting steel

Great Target. First day at range last week with it, probably 100 rounds 9mm at 20 yards. And another 200 of 5.56 and 300 Blackout super and subsonic at 100 yards. Nice ping to it, Very gratifying. Barley a dent in the steel. Most paint gone but to be expected. Ordering a new 1/2” carriage bolt with grade 8 rating or higher to keep as a spare. A few chips taken out of the bolt head with one it came with. Most likely with the 5.56 @ 2,800 FPS. Out of box, edges smooth, well built. As an owner of many steel boats, I’m impressed.
