20pcs. Snake Chain Necklace 18" Length, 1.5mm Thickness, Silver-Plated Brass

These are beautiful to start with, but tarnish very quickly with any use.

I bought these chains to sell with my handmade pendants, and kept one for myself to test. It's a beautiful yellow-gold color and very comfortable to wear.But it's a good thing I wore it for a while before attempting to sell any. About a month after I started using it, I noticed dull patches on both ends of the chain near the clasp. On closer inspection (and after attempting to clean it), it appears the gold plating came off where it rubbed the back and sides of my neck. I'd worn the chain maybe a dozen or so times, for a few hours each time. I never showered or exercised with it, just wore it while walking around doing normal daily activities.I'm extremely disappointed, because as a new fashion jewelry seller on Etsy I want to have dependable merchandise all the time. ESPECIALLY when I'm trying to build my ratings and reputation from zero. One 1-star review complaining about poor quality at this stage would be disastrous for me. I'd rather have a gold-colored base metal that stays nice, than this real gold that doesn't last long.It's a real shame... when the chain is new it's gorgeous and matches my work perfectly. But I won't be buying again.
