This is a great little tool if you only occasionally crimp battery lugs. It's easy to use and seems to make a solid crimp. Great if you're a DIY person and have a boat or RV.

I decided to invest in a simple crimper.I wasn't sure the first hammer blow did the job, so I gave another but I think the first one would have sufficed. I used a piece of railroad iron mounted on a stump for a base. Nothing bounced around.Simple device, reasonable cost, easy to use, consistent results.

Impressed. I needed to crimp some 4GA auto power cable for stereo installs. This did the job very well.Yes I had to buy a 4lb sledge too, but that has other purposes. Crimp was even & secure. The included shrink tube was easy to apply with a heat gun & was even around the crimp.

Nice little addition to my tool box. Works great for the large battery terminal ends.

Dislike: sliding part (shiny) binds in sleeve upon crimping, takes some fiddling to get it to let go. This may be frustrating if you’re making a lot of crimps. I only needed to make a few, so it worked fine for me.Like: makes a good, solid crimp, good value, far more compact than a big bolt-cutter style crimper.

I didn't think I'd use this but once or twice, and it looked kinda cheap.I've beat the living crap out of this thing, and it still works just fine.Let someone borrow it, and they liked it so much they bought their own.Put it on the concrete floor and smack the feces out of it with a two pound hammer. You'll find reasons to replace cables.

It makes dents in lugs. The crimps are secure but mostly...it makes dents in lugs.
