So far so good. But only 5 days in. Bought to replace a 1hp motor going bad on a Hayward super pump. The old motor had a flat head screw cut on the rear of the shaft. I was able to get it to limp along for a week by spinning it up with a drill and then turning it on... and yes I replaced the start capacitor and it didn’t help. Unfortunately this motor doesn’t have the same setup at the rear (no place to spin the shaft up) so when it goes I won’t be able to limp along like with the old one. This motor however is running much quieter than the old one and the throughput is as good as the old one was on its best day so I am pleased. Got a new seal kit and replaced all the seals. When I pulled the old impeller off a bunch of threads came off with it. Have a new one on order but the old one went back on good enough and has held so far. It must have been really old because the newer one have brass threads and this one is all plastic.

This is a great replacement motor. I had one about 15 years older than this one that just kicked this year. The problem with my old one is that it would run hot, so much so that weeds left uncut around the motor would singe and burn on dry days. This one seems to be an upgrade with a vent on the rear side that, coupled with the spinning of the impeller, seems to serve as a cooling fan/exhaust type setup. This does create a bit more audible noise than my last, but the pump is a good bit away from the pool in my setup so not a problem. Install was fine using Youtube step-by-step instructions, not the easiest thing I've ever tried to do but got it all set in about an hour and a half. Highly recommend as an alternative to replacing the full setup.

Good value vs "Hayward" labeled, marked up pumps. Replaced previous A.O. Smith that lasted 7 seasons here in the south. Both that one and this labeled as "made in Mexico." I'll take that over China. Easy install (plenty of Youtube how-to videos out there). Most installers recommend replacing the gasket seals while you've got the motor off the pump housing to ensure no leaks, and the kit is relatively cheap. As a bonus, the $14 one I purchased also included a new gasket for the filter basket cover at the pump housing.Note: Amazon "frequently bought together" items listed both a "seal kit", and a seperate "shaft seal." You only need the "kit" as it already includes the shaft seal with it.

3rd pump in 20 years for our in ground pool. Last one only lasted 4 years and cost a bundle once I purchased the entire pump with filter basket and paid for installation. I watched several very helpful you tube videos, went out of my comfort zone, and gave it a shot. I took my time, and it was a breeze and no plumbing necessary! I have never done this before, but it was easy. Within an hour, new motor was installed, quiet again and running as smooth as silk. I am just hopeful that it lasts and STAYS QUIET, longer than our last one. It arrived ahead of projected delivery schedule and I figure we saved $400+ !!! Very happy so far!

Perfect fit for my Hayward Super Pump. Exact replacement for my old motor. Spent a few bucks on this motor and some parts for the pump and it's like having a new pump at 1/4 of the price of a replacement pump. I did replace the old mounting bolts with new ones. Got them at Lowe's for a couple of bucks. Highly recommend this pump motor as a replacement on the Super Pump.

Exact fit replacement motor for Hayward Super Pump. Fairly quiet, quick ship. Fortunately packed in box with styrofoam ends and extra space as UPS delivery had two long box gashes on one long box side. If this last 5 years + will be worth the try and already a reasonable price.

Replacement for pool motor . To bad !!! make in China !!! But it work (for now ) at a good price . 😷😉

Purchased it to replace a Hayward Super Pump motor from 2011 that didn’t survive the winter. It was fairly easy to disassemble the pump enclosure and move the impeller from the old motor over to this replacement. I’d highly recommend also getting a replacement kit with the seals and gaskets and replacing these as well for around $15. From start to finish took me about an hour to disassemble, reassemble and rewire the new motor in. It’s been going strong for over two months so far without any issues.
