I’m such a huge fan of anything solar and anything brightly colored. I originally bought a pack to test to see how bright they were, if they lasted in the rain and snow, and if they lasted more than two weeks. They exceeded my expectations! On a dark overcast day, they stay lit up about 3-4 hours. On a bright sunny day, they stay lit up about 6+ hours. Following the instructions as to how to angle the solar panels and checking that they stay clear is very important in maximizing how long they work each day. I’m definitely buying more!Update on 3/11/2020:I ended up purchasing 6 strands in Nov 2019 and have had these up for 4 months straight. They’ve been in weather ranging from 10 degrees up to 70 degrees, thunderstorms, snow, ice, sleet, and everything in between. They still work. Some strands last a few more hours than others but overall I’m VERY impressed.

I assumed these would have the same 8 functions as my last few sets. Alas, they do not (even though it says so in the included directions). So sad, since these things last YEARS, so I either need to buy more and donate these, or just put up with simple flashes. Hmm...So, five stars, I guess, since they're great lights, nice and bright and easy to string up. But my sad inner child is missing the cool flash patterns.

Loved them at first but they didn't even work for 3 wks. I have solar lights on my garden fence at home that have been there 3 years, going through their 3rd Colorado winter this year so I'm not sure why these sets stopped working, in the warm, dreamy Florida weather. They weren't as bright as other solar lights I've purchased either. The lights also decided to change the program randomly after the first week or so. I don't like flashing, strobe-like lights but that seemed to be the favored program of the half of the strings that held on til the end.I purchased solar lights to be more eco friendly and ended up tossing them in the trash. That's a bit ironic. Sorry Mother Earth.

I have these lights outdoors in freezing temps. On cloudy December days you get about 1 hr of lights after sundown . Now in February when it’s still cold but days are longer and finally getting some sun you get about 2.5-3 hrs of illumination. Placement of solar charging panel is critical. Get as much sun as you can. I’m sure in June when the sun is high and temps are warm the duration of lights will be significantly longer. Nice color to lights and they have endured temps down to 10 F

The first set I got, one didn't work at all. The replacement set worked, but the rechargeable batteries lasted about 2 hours (in very sunny conditions in CA)...replaced the batteries with larger ones and that increased life to about 4 hours....other than short times they are very nice and good quality...hopefully come spring and summer they will last longer...otherwise for the price they are worthwhile...

update: These lights have been functioning for about a year now. Left them up to try to help with morale during the covid pandemic. I pray they have been a comfort to some who might need some bit of encouragement. They stay light for several hours when the sun is able to shine and they manage to get some charge.For the first use of these lights, we have been impressed with how bright they light up. We are hoping that they are just as good for Christmas 2020.

product is great. Solar works better than I expected. After an afternoon of sunlight, lights stay on for at least 4 to 5 hours. No need to mess with it, just set it up and leave it.2nd damaged package I have received from Amazon in less than a month.Package was punctured and ripped. (as was my package from a couple of weeks ago) Also, driver could have left the package on the patio chair or table. But he chose to throw it on the ground.Come on guys, a 10 year old has more common sense. Disappointed long time Amazon customer.

As I am often away for Christmas, solar lights are the perfect decoration as they turn on and off with no long extension cords and plugs. Stuck at home this year, I realize just how beautifully they twinkle after a sunny day of energizing but how disappointing they are after a day with little sun. All in all, though, they are a simple way to decorate without the fuss of electric cords. They store easily and continue to work for several years.

We were looking for solar lights (colored) to decorate a mini tree to leave at the cemetery with my mom (her first heavenly Christmas). they worked perfect. We've gone back a few times and they are working great. I used one of the sets for that tree and the other around my door wreath outside.Love it!
