Great mini PC to run Shadow Cloud Gaming PC
Purchased this desktop as a gateway for my Shadow Cloud Gaming Computer, it runs shadow perfectly as expected which basically turns this low powered mini computer into a fully functional super fast gaming computer that runs everything on ultra settings. The reason i'm giving this 3 stars instead of 5 is the box was already opened, product was not in new condition had minor blemishes and appears to have been used already. Honestly this isn't to big of an issue for me as i'm using this for Shadow. Seller did not specify that this item was in used condition so i'm very disappointed over that part. Only time will tell how long this machine holds up, will update my review should anything go wrong in the future.

Update-Doesn't have m.2 slot, ,Linux Mint 20 works on it. Not a bad little computer so far.
07/05/2020 Update:In the "About this item" section, the following is mentioned : 1 TB 2242 SATA SSD(SD card/ SSD is not included), This computer doesn't have an M.2 slot on the motherboard. I opened the case and examined both sides of the motherboard, even under the heatsink, the slot doesn't exist. This is really disappointing as I was going to buy and install one to increase the storage capacity. A microSD card isn't as fast. I still like this mini-pc so much that I am going to keep it, I am just going to buy a larger capacity 256 microSD U3 card for storageI put this mini-pc through its paces, re-installing Windows 10 revealed that the audio, bluetooth, and wireless drivers are not installed by Windows 10 natively and searching out the drivers through the hardware id's in the device manager led to disappointment as the drivers found conflicted with Windows 10, I even tried to force the drivers to no avail. The lesson i learned is that if you want to use Windows on this device, DO NOT DELETE the recovery partition like I did.Next I installed Android x86 and it worked really well, except that the wifi wasn't recognized (a common theme). It was really snappy, but and worked well but, just wasn't to my liking.I ended up trying Manjaro Linux XFCE and it failed to boot from the live USB until I chose "Non Free Drivers" on the live boot screen before booting into a live environment. It also failed to boot after I updated from kernel 5.6.16-1 to 5.7x (don't remember exact number) requiring me to tap shift while booting and selecting the 5.6.16-1 kernel once more. Manjaro XFCE only used a little over 500 MB after installation and barely 1GB of RAM after installing all my software. I used the same partition setup that I used below for Linux Mint. The wifi didn't work, but the audio, bluetooth and seemingly everything else works fine. I solved the wifi problem by plugging in a powered USB 3.0 hub with a Belkin wifi dongle.-----------------------------------------------,This is an early review and a first impression of this mini pc. When it arrived, Amazon packaged the item in a bubble lined manila envelope. This worried me at first, but when I pulled out the box inside it was fully intact without any signs it had been crushed. A second thing that caused worry was the box was not sealed with tape, sticker, seal, etc. When I opened the box everything appeared to be in new, pristine condition and was very well packaged. There was an HDMI cord, power cord, a small booklet, and the computer itself. The computer was the typical size of a mini pc and was packed with expansion ports. There are 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 USB 3.0 port, a USB-C port, a microphone/headphone 3.5mm jack, a microUSB slot, a VGA port, an ethernet port, and an HDMI port. The remaining port is for the power supply. I inserted a high-speed microUSB card (Installs upside down) and hooked up the power, hdmi cord, speakers, Ethernet cord, wireless mouse, and corded keyboard. I then powered on the unit and was met with an AMERICAN MEGATRENDS logo and it sat there twitching and doing things in the background for about 10-15 minutes before the initial Windows screen prompt came up. After I answered typical Windows setup questions, it took another 15 minutes to get up and running. Note: I received a Windows message that said there was an error but, that updates would most likely fix it. It did fix it and I was eventually taken to the Windows 10 desktop. I noticed right away that you have about 40 GB of space left after this initial installation. This wasn't a big deal because you can install extra storage if you like. The performance with Windows 10 was okay, I did a bit of tweaking and was able to get respectable performance out of this little box. Videos played good and the only problem I had was the headphone jack took some fiddling around with to get the speakers to play. I bought the box to try and install Linux on and after reading the comment of another person who installed Linux I figured I was going to be in for a hard time. This was not the case at all: I decided to install Linux Mint 20.00 with the Cinnamon desktop as a trial. I made a bootable USB drive and plugged it into the USB 3.0 port. I then used the Windows menu to shutdown the device. I turned it back on and tapped the F7 key to get the boot menu screen. I selected my USB drive and was surprised when it booted to a live instance of Linux Mint 20 without issue. I found that everything worked perfectly out of the box, so I opened the gparted program and deleted all of the existing partitions. I then created a 500mb fat32 partition and set the boot flags to "boot" and "esp". I created a swap partion of 4096mb (4GB) and I formatted the remainder of the internal storage as EXT4 and then I formatted my 64 GB microSD to EXT4 as well. I then clicked the link to "Intall Linux Mint", during the installation you will get the option to have Linux Mint use the whole drive, at this screen I chose "Do something else". I assigned the boot section to "boot efi", the swap partition was automatically assigned to "linux swap" and the remainder of the internal drive I assigned to "/" which is root. I then assigned "/home" (Home directory) to the microUSB card. It took about fifteen minutes to install and works perfectly. I am using Linux Mint right now to write this review. At the moment, I recommend this computer, that could change depending on its life and/or performance.

It a Winner! Amost (Died)
Nov 17 2020 Well it lasted 5-6months before it die'd so i lowered it rating.May 2020So this mini pc is using an Intel 4 core Cherry Trail processor and came with Windows 10 Home, however Windows make it a bit noisy as the cpu fan runs a lot. Windows performance was mediocre. I bought this to run linux and linux runs great. Cpu is quite noiseless. I discovered linux does not run on Cherry Trail without some hacks. If you want to run Ubuntu 20.04 google Linuxium. Linuxium has the downloads and scripts for 20.04. Wireless did not work until I found the missing firmware file(part of window). Google "Can't install WiFi drivers for Broadcom AP6255" for the fix.PS. the Bios is very basic, nothing tunable but is does run KVM and docker fine, though 4GB of memory is limiting.

Very good at this price
This mini PC so far is fine for what I bought it for (multimedia device connected to a TV). All Windows updates so far could be downloaded and installed with no issues, HD content playback is smooth.Cons:1. Description says the PC is fanless, and that’s not true. The cooling fan was so loud I had to open the PC and tighten the loose screws , now the noise is still audible but only when TV sound is muted (I see now "fanless" was removed from the description).2. The silly perimeter lights that change colors without any relation to what the PC is doing are pretty distracting.

Very nice for the price
I hope I'm not getting ahead of myself. I just set this up, but so far so good. It does have Windows 10 Home 64 Bit installed and activated. It does take a little setup to personalize, but Cortana will walk you through. Mine does appear to be brand new. Some reviews indicated otherwise. It has amazing picture quality which is great because this is basically a server for watching TV. Looks great on my brand new 43 inch UHD TV. It does have what I think is a 65 GB solid state hard drive. I was able to download and use Google Chrome with no problem. That's not a lot of space but all you have to do is buy a big thumb drive and store everything there. You can use a free Microsoft Office app, but your work is automatically saved to OneDrive. I don't like Windows 10 because it's too intrusive. But these days that seems to be where we're going. You can save a copy to the PC or thumb drive, but it's still going to the cloud. The PC does seem slow, though it's hard to tell because most of what's going on is on the web.It obviously does not have a DVD drive but you can plug in a USB DVD drive, although it will be larger than the PC.I used to be a computer tech, and built PC's in the days of Win 98. Hard to believe how things have changed.Final words: Great little device, especially when you think of what a copy of Windows 10 costs. I paid about the same price as I would have for just the software. I looked at other mini PC's and think I made a good choice with this one. Hope you do as well.
