Seiko Overseas Model, Reverse-Imported, Quartz Chronograph Wristwatch

The best looking vintage Omega Speedmasters are the ones with the polished steel bezels. This watch strongly reminds me of those old models. At 38mm case size, and with Seiko brand name and technology, there is nothing to hate about this thing (unless you can't stand quartz - which I understand I guess - this is my only quartz watch). It is thin, unobtrusive, but still has good presence on the wrist because of that awesome bezel. I love the vintage sizing - I have a 7 inch wrist so I can get away with slightly bigger watches than this, but I'd like all watches to be this size to be honest. I've had this thing for a couple of years now and it is one of my favorite watches. I bought it well before Covid and the battery is still running. The accuracy is insane. It is so light (because it is quartz), that the Seiko bracelet (Seiko bracelets are known for being okay not great... a bit jangly) is not an issue for me - the watch sits on the wrist quite comfortably, quietly and happily (and there are plenty of micro adjusts). I'm thinking about getting another one as a spare. I can't believe that these things are only just over $100. Perhaps I'll put one on a rubber strap so that I'll finally have a waterproof sports watch in my humble collection (it looks great on a black strap). I feel like I'm doing an ad for this thing lol. The truth is I watch a lot of videos about watches and I have never seen anyone review one of these. I don't understand how something this cool, good looking, fun and such good value is so widely ignored by the watch community and I guess I just want to stand up for it.

1-This watch is built very solidly and made with stainless steel,2-The steel band is very long. I went to the internet for directions on how to take the links out of it and I could not do it. I ordered a Archer band rubber replacement from Amazon.3-The diameter of the face is 38mm which historically was the standard for military watches during WWII. The thickness is relatively thin at 10mm. If you have an average to diameter wrist this size will be just fine. This chronograph has an acceptable water resistance of 100M. Large over sized watches are not as fashionable as they once were,4-This watch has a reliable 7T92 quartz movement that oscillates 32,768 cycles/second. That means it is very accurate and a solid movement. This mechanism has been tried and true by Seiko for many years.6-The crystals made of Seiko proprietary material Hardex which protects against scratches and is tougher than normal glass crystal.7-The watch complications: date, calendar and tachometer function very well and the alignments are right on target.8-The watch is Japanese and assembled in Thailand. It is meant to be sold in Japan and not the USA.9-The luminescence paint used on this watch is another Seiko proprietary product called Lumibrite. It is highly rated and lasts for approximately 5 hours after exposure to light.10-The legibility of reading the face of this watch is fine.11-it is a very nice looking watch that is very sturdy. You can feel the solidness of the watch when you pick it up.I think it is a good value for a solid well built watch.

I bought this watch The late August 2024 because of its size, 38 mm, it was a Seiko, and a chronometer. And it was shipped from Japan in a little over one week with no shipping charge, total cost of $90. A few days later, the watch was $138, and may no longer even be available. It appears to be a hybrid watch that has a Seiko name, but was assembled in the Philippines, leading to the low initial cost.I'm trying to get used to the second hand being one of the small dials, and wondering if I will will ever need to time something to less than a second. However, it is a beautiful timepiece with an interesting approach to timekeeping, and assuming it maintains accurate time over a long period, it is be a watch I hope to still be wearing in 10 or more years.

Very happy with my purchase. I’m a chef and I wanted something a little flashy that didn’t break the bank, or mind having a few scuffs… hoping to avoid that for as long as possible. The only negative aspect I can find is the band is a bit light. It is made of a lesser quality than the watch itself, going to replace. Overall though I am satisfied with this watch and for the more than reasonable price.

This is one of those watches that belongs on a leather strap. The stock bracelet is cheap and makes the watch look very ordinary. I absolutely love the size and low profile of this watch as well, especially because modern chronographs tend to be tacky and oversized. I also feel like this watch is shiny in all the right places too, very tastefully done. An absolute steal for the price.

Looks similar to the Seiko Gen 2 RAF pilot watch. Comfortable diameter and solid lume.

This thing is so cool, looks like a vintage speedmaster, finishing is amazing for the price, looks like a $500+ watch easily. Great alignment, hands finished very well, perfect size, nice and thin, I can’t find anything to complain about, except the bracelet. It’s one of the worst I’ve ever seen, super rattly and loose folded links. Even Orient tristar bracelets are better. Put it on a strap. I wish it was solar, I’d pay double for it.

It is a good looking,solid watch ,at a great price.A classic chronograph design,that I would recommend.

Seiko gerçekten bir klasik. Emsali çok fazla kol saatim olsa da buna alıştıktan sonra diğerleri garip geliyor. Kayışı titanyum bu yüzden çok hafif. Her ne kadar ilk bakışta göze küçük gibi gözükse de resmi kıyafetlerle çok güzel duruyor. Camı ve kadranı üst düzey kalitede değil ama yeterli. Günlük kullanımda su, toz ve hafif çarpmalara da gayet dayanıklı. Tek bir saat alacaksanız ve yıllarca kullanacaksanız kesinlikle tavsiye ederim. Fiyatını kesinlikle karşılıyor.

Tres belle Seiko, encore plus belle que prevu. Et a un excellent prix : 185€ ! ... C'est parti pour 10 ans. Ok.
