I don't know how long one should expect a dog collar to last, but after buying 3-4 dog collars last year I purchased this one. My 50lb pit wore this collar 24/7 and about a year to the day the inner padding started to come apart.I kind of feel like this a reasonable lifespan for a dog collar.Although I usually hook a choke collar up when I take her for a walk, I will just hook her outdoor lead up to this collar, so it's certainly had more than just the requirement to "look pretty".Overall I'm happy with this purchase, and I'm leaving this review as I place an order for another one.UPDATE: So I'm writing this a week after I put the new collar on my dog. I think I jinxed things by writing the above review because a few days later the inner padding/liner became detached and the collar is starting to fall apart. There's no danger of the collar coming off, but the fact that it's already disintegrating makes me lose faith. Looks like I'll be buying another collar to replace this one.So the first collar lasted a year before it started to show serious wear. The second collar immediately started falling apart within days. I did notice that the collars are subtlety different, so perhaps these are manufactured by a different company. Previously I rated this collar 4/5.

The media could not be loaded.  New review. My dog was chained in our yard happily playing with her tiny humans when she spotted a squirrel. Of course she tried to chase it. When she got to the end of the lead the collar SNAPPED right in half and she got away. We live in a city and she got about four blocks before we caught her, now with no collar on. Also before that, a few of the metal loops in the sizing holes came out. Will not buy this collar again. My dog is a black lab fully grown and is 62lbs. Very disappointed because we bought this same one in a smaller size when she was a pup and had no issues with it.

Seems like a good collar, however I just noticed a large piece of skinny metal sticking out from under one of the rivets on the skin side of the collar. I do not know when it happened (if it came like that or not, I've only had it for a few weeks), but this is concerning as it probably could have cut my dog at some point of i hadn't noticed it.I am hoping that this was a one time production or QA flaw, but it is a safety concern.

I ordered this for my puppy. I removed it from the package last night and one of the rivets back was gone and there was a stain by the company name tag. When I picked it up to put back in the plastic bag another rivet fell out. I am sending it back for an exchange. If my exchange collar is as cheaply made as this one I will not buy from this company again nor recomend them. I received the leash today and it seems to be in good shape and seems sturdy. I will update my review when my exchange gets here. Update: I got replacement and these collars are garbage. Rivets fell out and frayed after a few days of wearing. Will not buy again.

At first I was happy with this collar. Seems well made, and it is partially padded for comfort when used with a leash. The label on the outside of the collar annoyed me, but whatever. The problem is the buckle. Its heavy, and since there is slack needed to keep your dog comfortable, the metal rotates to the bottom, under the neck. The picture I attached shows the underside of my poor dog's throat after 1 week with this collar. She is all bloody and raw, most likely due to a combination of the rubbing buckle and an allergic reaction to it. We are going back to a plastic buckled collar as soon as she heals up.

This is a nice thick collar and it has a short area of additional nylon backing sewn into the area that will rest on the back of the dog's neck. I ordered the purple and the color is accurate with the listing photo. I only gave 2 stars because it can't be used on the tightest hole because the excess hole area left over flaps down past the collar. I will need to go purchase a zip tie for a temporary way to hold it up against the rest of the collar so my puppy doesn't ruin it by tearing it or getting it caught on something when playing. So I would say the size range is too much and it causes too much excess collar on the smallest fitting. Or maybe they need to add one more ring for the excess to slip into.

We've had the purple collar for about a year, and the blue collar for about a month. The pictures should allow you to see the difference. One thing to consider: the dog wearing the blue collar bites on the purple one quite a bit, so that may be why it's looking pretty rough. Overall, they look great and hold up well. For how rough my dogs are, these hold up great, and at the price, I don't mind having to buy a new one every other year! I only wish they had more colors to choose from.

Perfect a collar with a buckle instead of the plastic clips for my 35lbs labradorite. This fit the bill perfectly. My dog is in between sizes that make it difficult to find a collar. The small fit well and looks great on her. Oginally purchase a medium that had to be exchanged, with no issues. Collar is holding up well and reinforced with metal eyelets for durability. Leash clasp is thick, as expected. Great value for the money and would definitely purchase again.

Love the colour but found it to be made poorly considering the price - the stitching frayed very quickly once beginning to use it, the metal hole protectors fell out begging a month after use, and the thick padding began to crack I guess from wear and tear after 2 months and started leaving marks on my dogs neck, she didn’t wear the collar more than 6 months and we had to throw it away! For the price this is very poor quality in my opinion!

I bought this collar because I wanted one with a buckle, not a plastic snap that has the potential to come apart easily. The grommets are really poor quality. They bend where they contact the buckle and the ring on the back of them falls off. Guessing the one that’s happened to, I could easily pull the grommet right off. It might be better without the grommets, because when you’re trying to do the collar up on anything past the end hole, they catch on the buckle and make it hard to pull the collar thru it. I’m glad this was only a temporary collar for my puppy until she’s big enough for her adult sized biothane collar.

The collar is padded from the metal buckle up to the first sizing hole. We wanted a collar with metal buckle as our dog breaks the plastic buckle on previous collars. Works great.

This product is perfect for our dog. It has metal grommets for the buckle which is all metal. It is sturdy and durable and I like the padded inside so the fabric of the colar is not directly on the skin. The price was very surprising. I will contine to purchase from this company. Thanks

Two weeks old and the one gromet fell out and is all frayed should of been burnt before adding gromets not just cut out good thing was cheap went to garbage already
