An Intermediate Performance Companion For Pop Studies 1: The WunderKeys Essential Piano Collection

The Pop Studies Books are Great!!As a piano teacher, I’ve started using these with my teen students and they love them! I have one student in particular that I’ve been working with for a couple months now. She transferred to me from another piano teacher who wasn’t comfortable teaching her outside of a method series. This student was incredibly reluctant when I even suggested pairing the technique book of a series alongside popular sheetmusic/chord charts of today.I showed her the Pop Studies companion and performance book for the first time to which she sighed and slumped down realizing it was like a method book.However!The following week she came back with the whole song memorized! I even heard the words “I just love these songs so much, I’ve been playing them all week—at home, at school, pretty much wherever there was a piano!”

These Intermediate Pop study and performance books by Andrea Dow have been lifesavers in my studio!I have several highschool kiddos who are so busy and stressed that don't have a lot of practice time. They are highly motivated to play these pieces (especially the performance book) and have an emotional outlet right now when it's so very important.There is a variety of celtic, some pop/ classical crossovers as well as a few lyrical pieces. Every single student has progressed with their musicality and ability to express themselves in their playing.The music sits well in the hand and with pattern based learning, students are making excellent progress very quickly.I highly recommend the Intermediate Pop series by Andrea Dow.

This is a wonderful book for teen students. I have been a piano teacher for almost 30 years, and I can attest to the fact that students love these pieces, and will practice them until they are well-learned. The music allows students to use their imaginations as they interpret each piece. They are pedagogically sound, and a pleasure to teach.

My one 14 yr old, student just got this book, and is off and running with it! It is the perfect addition to WunderKeys Intermediate 1, as your students will strengthen their knowledge with these beautiful and fun to play pieces. I have to chuckle, because as I played through them late one night, my husband, who was going upstairs to sleep, literally stopped and said,” I was going to sleep, but I then you start the next song, and I want to her it” Yes, it’s that good!

Switched from Faber to these. My teenage son loved to practice these way more. They teach all the same techniques and theory but the pieces are a lot more exciting.

I am enjoying playing the music from this book. I was worried that there would be duplication of songs that I have from other books from this author, but they have been reworked for this book. Andrea Dow writes beautiful music that's easy to play, and a pleasure to listen to. I look forward to piano practice if I have this book in front of me.

Wonderful series full of beautiful & inspiring pieces. The Performance book is the perfect companion to the lesson book so that a student can really enjoy all he or she has worked to learn. Beautiful pieces!!!

I love all the Wunderkeys books and this one is no exception! Your students/pianists will love this book.

I started using this series with my teen students who struggled to find repertoire they liked. Once I started using this I’ve seen students flourish and love practicing. I had one student exclaim that she finally sounds like she knows how to play well like she’s wanted for so long. I can’t say enough good things about how this has changed my teaching methods.

Gorgeous pieces that range from lyrical to dramatic! Your students won’t be able to resist sitting down to practice every time they walk past the piano!
