If you, like me, have someone in your family who has particularly dry, crusty, itchy earwax, you need this tool kit! Anyone who has ever tried to clean their loved ones ears knows that having the right tool for the job makes all the difference in the world. And we have tried everything! I just wish I had stumbled across this kit sooner... For most of us with normal gummy earwax, a Q tip works fine. But then there are people like my husband whose ear wax glands secrete a substance that is more like sticky, crumbly rocks. The dried smears that plaster themselves to the sides of the ear canal are incredibly itchy and irritating, and the loose crumbles rattle around next to his ear drum so he can hear them rustling loudly. Ignoring the stuff and letting it build up is simply not an option for him.But with Q tips out of the picture, how is a caring wife supposed to help? We've tried flashlights, tweezers, tiny metal ear spoons, plastic tools that looked like miniature honey dippers, nothing has really worked until now. The opening to the ear is just too small to get both a flashlight beam and a tool maneuvered in there at the same time. Believe me, I have spent hours trying in vain. Self-lit tools are nice, but the tips eventually break or the battery gives out, and they don't sell replacement parts for either.But this kit includes a pair of fine tipped tweezers with a tiny mounted flashlight and a scooping tool with a socket to mount a clear plastic spoon tip that lights the whole shaft. And the best part is, all batteries and tips are fully replaceable. It even comes with extras.I can now clean my husband's poor itchy ears out whenever he needs it, and while it used to take me an hour of struggling and squinting and cautiously scooping, I can now get the job done swiftly and easily in under twenty minutes. I can get more of it out then I ever did before, but because I always have adequate light right where I need it and well designed tool tips, it takes way less time to do it. And I have confidence that if they light stops lighting or the tip breaks I can just replace and keep working rather than having to order a whole new kit. It even comes in a spiffy little case. This kit is well worth the $13 I paid for it!

Product came undamaged and practically ready for use. Added batteries to top cylinder and it powered in right away; the initial batteries were already installed in the tweezers. LED light on both instruments is strong and bright. Came with 3 replacement batteries for the tweezers and a tool to open up battery compartment on the tweezers when it is time to replace. Also comes with large and small ear scoop that can be attached to the larger instrument. When the light is on, and the scoop is attached, due to the design, the light flows through the attached scoop and lights up the end; making it easier to find and loosen inner ear wax. So far, very happy with my purchase.

It's not cheap feeling. It's a notch above. Everything comes in handy. Be extremely careful as everything is metal and hard plastic. It's really easy to tear the walls of your ear. Ear canals are very sensitive and delicate.They use to make these swabs that were super sticky that wax would stick too and come right out. Can't find those anywhere.

In theory, this is an excellent product. I bought it specifically to clean my pug's ears. They get disgusting, and q-tips were an okay fix, but the tiny scoop on the tip of the attachments (as well as the light) make it so much easier to see what you're doing and remove the gunk rather than pushing it further into the ear canal. The lighted tweezers are also perfect for grabbing clumps of shed hair that tend work their way down into pug ears. However, the product I received is quite finicky. The light flickers and is very dim unless you adjust the end of the wand with the on/off switch or the part the cleaning tips screw into. This sometimes works for a little while, but I constantly have to adjust the end pieces to get the light to stay on at full brightness. Not ideal when you're working with a dog that is impatient for after ear-cleaning treats. The wand itself is metal, but the interchangeable tips are plastic, and screwing them in and out (I always remove the plastic tip for cleaning after use) wears down the ridges so that the tips will no longer stay in place. Maybe I just got a defective one; when this product works, it's incredible and has saved me a lot of money in vet bills, but I've grown to dislike using it because something that should be simple ends up wasting a lot of time and creating a good deal of frustration on my end. If quality control could be improved, this would be a 5 star product.

As advertised and the quality is great, easy to use and clean. It would be nice if the case had been just slightly bigger. That would be my only complaint.

This little kit is perfect! Note, I also have an ear camera and other little tools (curettes with lights and fun animal shapes), yet I find this set to be the most useful and complete. I especially like the plastic forceps/tweezers with the lights attached, helps to remove impacted wax gently without having to "dig" around it. Would definitely purchase again. (P.S. I'm a medical provider and have removed impacted cerumen professionally - this kit was easier to use, and safer in my opinion, than simply trying to flush out the wax without knowing if the eardrum is intact, etc.)
