POND BOSS871980012587 Complete Floating UV Filter with Pump, Standard, Black

We have a very small pond, with three very large goldfish. It is situated so that it gets a lot of sun. Unfortunately, we also got a lot of stringy algae. We had a pond filter, and pond plants and even tried some mild algae products, but couldn't get the water clear. Then we introduced this pump. It took 2 weeks, and the water was great. We could see our fish!! We got a second one for another small pond, and it too was great. We recently pulled them both out for winter. I have my fingers crossed that they will winter well and work again next spring. I will update then.I suggest putting it in your cart and watching for a while. Lowes has the same pump (maybe marketed under a slightly different name, but the same product) ... I was able to get the best price on Amazon.

I absolutely love this filter. I had one previously in a very small pond. My fish outgrew the small pond and I made a bigger pond. I ordered a second Pond Boss and plugged it in. After a week, my pond was looking pretty gross. After a month of constantly cleaning my pond, I figured out that the UV light wasn't working. I did order another light, and it has worked great!

This product is a great concept but the amount of water that sprays out of the top is weak and not a described in description. It runs great but only puts out a gental spray that goes up maybe 14 iches.

I bought this to aerate and kill bacteria with its UV light. It has proven to be a very reliable device. My only issue is the spray nossel on the top of the unit used to create a spray quickly plugs up with debris to small for the unit's filter to keep out. The nossel is a push on and pull off device and can be quickly cleaned with an air hose or rapping it sharply on the deck. If you get the right holes plugged, the spray can become a jet onto the deck. I just run it without the nossell and it becomes a trouble free device. The fish live to congregate below it as they sense the fresh water and its size creates a zone in which they can hide.

Excellent filter, very enjoyable addition to our pond. Works exactly as described. For maximum clarify performance, remove the spray head on the top so the flow is not restricted. If you have good filtration now, keep it on for the patterns it generates. I am very satisfied with this product. My pond is 1200 gallons, so this unit is too small to be the only clarifier. I am installing additional algae control as this unit allowed some accumulation at depth. But fair enough, it is rated for 750 gallons and I would think it would be adequate on its own for a pond of that size or smaller. We really enjoy this unit!

Right out of the box and it did not work. The design is very challenging to try to work with. We tried for hours with no luck. The idea of a floating pump is so nice, but they need to go back to the drawing board on this one. So far the best pond pumps and customer service that I have ever experienced has been Pennington... excellent. I will stay with Pennington, even if I see a "good deal" elsewhere.

I purchased this for my Grandmother's 300 gallon fish pond. For the price of the filter I expected it to have more power and keep the water at least partially clear for more than one week. After ONE week, the filter was clogged up with debris and algae was growing on the top portion of the filter. The other thing I was not happy about is the fountain only sprayed up approximately 4-6 inches.I offered to return the filter but my grandma wanted to keep it because it has the lights on it so she can see it in the evening. I haven't seen how brightly it lights the pond because I haven't seen it in the dark but they are very, very tiny lights so I can't imagine it's very brightly lit. I have now ordered and set up another filter with a 1000 gph pump to run a submersible filter box. I am hoping with both pumps and filters running it keeps the water clean and clear so my 92 year old grandmother can enjoy hear fish and pond!😊

I have a small pond with (probably ) too many fish ; SO I was constantly getting in the pond to take the pump out to clean it !I was so excited to discover this floating pump , but was apprehensive . I didn't see how it could do a good job and not be grounded.I am more than pleasantly surprised . I LOVE IT !I don't have to get in the pond to retrieve it to clean the mesh that serves as a filter .I just just it out of the pond and rinse the mesh and drop it back it! It doesn't rest on the bottom if the pond so it doesn't clog as often .I LOVE IT !

Cleared a 600 gal pond of its murkiness and "pea-soup" appearance in 2 days. Used with D Solv 9 product. Had also ordered a pump with UV, but will return it as this product worked beyond expectations. Will need to find out were to order replacement bulbs for next season. Install was breeze, under 10 mins.
