My wife crochets under the living room chandelier, which had eight 60-watt incandescent bulbs. I had to agree with here there wasn't a way to put a lamp by her chair in a way that would look good, but I'd cringe when she'd walk away leaving 480 watts of chandelier burning. I had been looking for LED bulbs that would be cost-efficient and finally these came along. Some LED bulbs honestly aren't very attractive, but these look pretty good and they can be dimmed, which we need in the living room. They claim to be 40-watt replacements, but they are plenty bright, replacing the 60-watt bulbs we had.

larger than standard chandelier bulb
The lights are nice, all work so far with no problem. I love the amber color - it's not so harsh on my eyes as the blue color of most LEDs. Just a note - and folks who know light bulbs probably already know this, but these bulbs are larger (taller and wider) than most candelabra/chandelier bulbs. So if you are getting shades for them that sit on top of the bulbs, not all shades will fit correctly and sit too high on the bulb.But I'm so happy to have energy efficient lights that don't hurt my eyes!

A happy medium!
Time will tell about the quality and efficiency of this product. For now I am very excited to have found something between the too-sterile daylight (5000k) and dingy yellow soft white (2700-3000k) light options for my bathroom vanity. The 4000k light is easy on the eyes and makes our space feel clean without being too sterile. It is perhaps a little harsh on the eyes late at night (our fixture holds 8 of these) but I plan to address that with a dimmer switch.
