Getting Frustrated with the warranty service.
I'll admit that I just wasn't in the mood to pay $1000+ for the latest big brand laptop with all the bells buzzers and whistles. I DON'T game or do any graphics editing or critical recording or anything that might have made one of the more expensive laptops a greater temptation. My last Toshiba had all that stuff and a touch screen I hardly ever touched. Why pay extra for something you aren't going to use? That said, this computer was ALMOST perfect for me. I will confess that I had an issue that shook my confidence in this "refitted" product. I absolutely depend on Wi-Fi connectivity and after a couple of months I found myself re-starting this unit dozens of times a day to re-establish my wireless connection to the home network. It got so bad I sent in a complaint and asked about the warranty. The company sent me a very nice reply and made some standard suggestions about re-setting the entire machine. I was pretty sure that wasn't it and hated the idea of having to re-install so many apps that I hesitated to follow their directions. I decided to try the old "give it a whack" method that "cured" so many loose connections in the days before MOSFETS and printed circuits. AMAZINGLY.... it worked. At least for the last couple of weeks. Now I'm sure there was a loose connection somewhere in the circuitry. There may still be. The company made it clear that they would repair it if I wanted to send it to them and were very gracious about it. No complaints there but I still have about 7 months left on the 1 year warranty so I'm going to leave well enough alone for now. If it happens again I'll ship it back and let you know what happens. 11/17/2020 It happened again and again and again. I've tried the reset and every possible cure. When the wifi drops the computer refuses to even recognize that it has a wifi adapter so it HAS to be a bad chip or board somewhere in the machine. I've contacted the seller, PCOnline365, and requested a replacement for this defective unit. I'll keep updating on the progress. 11/19/2020 received my return shipping label today with a promise to repair the unit and ship it back. I'm concerned because the anomaly is random and intermittent. It's working fine right now and they may not be able to replic/ate the problem. Hoping they will save us both more time and trouble and just ship a replacement. Stay tuned. 12/08/2020.... They have had my broken laptop since 11/27 and I haven't had ANY contact from them. I'm beginning to think I may have just been ripped off for $620. The frustration is compounded by the fact that Amazon doesn't offer any link to directly communicate with the vendor and apparently won't involve themselves in any repair warranty issues.

Cheap laptop for a reason
The price of this laptop was seriously too good to be true. Within days the computer was going into the blue screen of death loop. Happened constantly. I have NEVER had that happen with a supposed new laptop before. By guess is this laptop was never new initially.....it was then modified with hardware and drivers that did not mesh well with the system. The computer was returned however I have yet to see that refund. I gladly ran out to costco and purchased a newer (also much more expensive) laptop that has been working flawlessly for over a week now.

Storage represented was 512 SSD, actual storage 128gb + 2 other issues
1) I bought 512 SSD hard drive storage, but computer sent was 128 gb. Realized it when I ran out of storage 6 mos later. 2) Windows was faulty, and had to be reloaded at factory after trying to reload multiple times. 3) Much trouble reaching customer support, Winter/Spring 2021 during pandemic. Many other companies were continuing to offer customer support via phone, but ASUS made it very, very difficult. Phones can be forwarded, so it seemed like an excuse to save money on support. So much of my time wasted on this computer. Will not buy ASUS again.

Great laptop
Great laptop. Feels durable and not like one of those plastic HP laptops. Also doesn’t come with a ton of bloatware. The only thing that bothers is me that it came preloaded with Windows 10 S and that was not specified when I purchased it.It’s curious why they went with a 2 core processor but overall for a budget laptop it feels like you have a high end machine.

It’s “ok” but beware
Laptop is “ok” but I’m guessing it wasn’t new because it already had 2 user accounts on it “Speed” and “Speede” that was the names of the two accounts already on the laptop when I got it. I don’t trust the seller so I wiped it clean and started with a new OS. Other than that the screen does look like the contrast is way too high at the bottom of the screen and it can’t be changed.

crashes
I like this laptop until it inexplicably crashes. I notified the seller and no answer. This is a serious problem and I have had it with other products by ASUS but not to this extent. It is defective.

EXCELLENT SPEED
I'm a high school teacher working remotely. I've been using this laptop daily to teach my online classes. No regrets. It works super fast and I have not had any issues. It is lightweight and sleek. The camera quality is not bad, could have been better.
