I was impressed that the company does not test on animals and is part of the Leaping Bunny certification program. To me, this is gold standard for cosmetic products to fight against animal testing.The scrub itself is fine (compared to sugar or apricot scrubs), but is dense enough to produce an exfoliating "feeling". When I applied the scrub first on my skin, I smelt a bit of a pungent scent which transformed into mint-like aroma. It was a weird transition, but happened every time I used it. The scrub has sunflower oil, so it feels a bit oily after it is washed off. If I use it on my face (very rarely as scrubs in general are not recommended), I have to follow up with a cleanser to get the oil off. On the body though the oil feels moisturizing, and I don't feel the need to wash it off.Overall, a pretty good product made in Tennessee. I appreciate US-made cosmetics.

I really wanted to like this since it has great ingredients, but I can't get past the smell. I can't pinpoint the smell, but it reminds me of somewhere between an auto mechanic's garage and fish eggs. The scrub itself isn't too bad though. It's a thick black and gritty paste. It doesn't lather well so I use a exfoliating cloth to help spread it along. Due to the black color, it stains the cloth. It doesn't seem to rinse off well either and the oily residue I felt during the rinse eventually revealed a clean and soft skin. Sadly, despite the soft skin, I still can't get past the smell.

At first, I was skeptical, but after reading the reviews, I decided to give this a try. It is black in color and has grains that are almost the texture of a fine sand in it. I was disappointed at first, because I felt like as I rubbed it on my skin, that the little find grains in it disappeared almost instantly, so I didn’t feel like I was getting a good scrubbing. I was prepared to give it a terrible review! But I went ahead and did my entire body, rinsed and got out of the shower. As I was drying off, I could tell my skin felt different immediately. It felt like I was coated in a succulent oil, yet my skin wasn’t oily! I can’t describe it any other way. I went to bed and woke up the next morning and touched my arm, and couldn’t believe how soft it was! My skin stayed soft and hydrated the entire day! My husband even noticed it the other day and mentioned that my skin looked so pretty and asked what I did! If you really want softer more hydrated skin, try this product. I’m a huge fan. Well worth the price!!

My package got lost and I never received this product to test out so I'm not really sure how to review it. I'm disappointed that it never arrived b/c I was really looking forward to testing it out. I'm a big fan of skincare especially skin scrubs. I love a good physical exfoliant. If it shows up in the mail one day, I will most definitely update my review.

This is a nice scrub! It is thick enough that you can get a nice scrub without the product flling off the skin too easily. There is pumice and silicone beads encased in a thick charcoal paste. I use it before I turn the shower on and it gives a really thorough dry scub. It then easily rinses off when I turn the shower on leaving smooth clean skin behind. I don't need to use extra soap on days I use this scrub because it is cleansing as well as exfoliating. It is not harsh or irritating at all but it does give a very good scrub.

This body scrub caught my eye due to its multiple listed benefits. I use it on days that I go to the gym. It is not a very pleasant color but because it has activated charcoal it’s expected to be darker. Its texture is abrasive and it does not lather like I thought it would. I do feel like I have to use a lot of the product per each shower to get my entire body.I do feel like it leaves my skin clean and takes off dead skin cells. This is great for after the gym when you have all the sweat on me. I personally like the scent. It’s citrusy to me. My skin is also soft after using it.

This exfoliating body scrub has a very very fine grit which is more exfoliating than many I have used. I would say it is a bit more abrasive and so I wouldn't use it on my face but it is great for my body. I love that it is black - it is such a surprising color! I am sure it is due to the activated charcoal. There is a bit of a scent due to the essential oils but it is pretty subtle. I did feel that I had to use a bit more than normal due to the super fine grit. It leaves a bit of residue from the essential oils as well, but I don't mind that at all. My skin feels soft and moisturized.
