A great book by a very knowledgeable outdoor mentor
Many people know that nature is a place to find some spaciousness and get away from the intensity of this hectic world.... but most people take their "hectic" out there with them. This author helped me be one of the few learning to slow down, cultivate inner stillness and a deeper relationship with myself. His own keen awarenesses and gentle suggestions are a path to develop an increasing awareness, participation and joy with the amazing life that previously went unnoticed.Raise your children like this and to help them have confidence about their place in the web of life. Truly, it is the gift that keeps on giving.

Fills a void in literature
This book is a unique find. As an Eco therapist, I find it to be a valuable resource as I help share with my clients ways to be more deeply connected to the natural world. I hope this author keeps writing.

Really insightful book with actionable takeaways
This is a really well written book that gives clear actions that we can implement right away. I've found myself able to connect more deeply with nature and have a greater overall well-being as a direct result of the practices found here.

Well-written, informative and interesting!
I bought two copies of this book for myself (kindle and paperback) and plan on buying several more copies for friends who are interested in meditation, nature, and neuroscience. The author writes in an engaging manner and has many years of experience in nature education, which makes reading this book both enjoyable and informative. I love the fact that he includes directions on how to meditate in nature so that the reader can not only learn about this topic but actually engage in the practice themselves. Five stars!

A real treasure
This book will appeal to many as it covers so much and has many pathways within it. It’s taken me deeper on my journey. I lent it to a friend who was experiencing a lot of anxiety. He’s now hooked on sitspot time. Telling me stories about his experiences and feeling a lot of relief from the anxiety. He is now recommending this book to others.I recommend it to those just beginning their nature connection journey and to those already on the path.

So Much More Than a Meditation Guide
I loved this book, particularly the fascinating research on the neuroscience of meditation, nature connection, and mindfulness practices that go so much deeper (scientifically and energetically) than other books I’ve read in this genre. This book is perfect for nature connected folks like me, looking to get into a meditation practice that isn’t about tuning out, but tuning in— to the self and to the more-than-human-world. Conscious Nature is practical, literally down-to-earth, but also delves into the mystery beyond the science from an open-minded, non-dogmatic perspective. I’ve dogeared and highlighted my copy, and will be returning to it again.

Concious nature is so deep rich, detailed and engaging.
Thanks Josh! Umbelivably supportive book in my hands in my life. Concious nature is so deep rich, detailed and engaging. Thankyou for this pearl!!Practically, by being far away from any nature mentoring cultures where I am now, it really reaches out very beautifully, supportivly and enlivening to me! Thanks!!

Promises much, delivers very little....
I had high hopes of this book but regrettably I found it repetitious and uninspiring. All that's said here has been said before: go out into the countryside, or a park if you're in town, find your favourite "sit spot" and meditate there often, or just relax, or visualise something nice. Pretend you're a tree, or a mouse, or even a human being. Feel what it's like to be a tree, or a mouse, or a human being. Walk slowly, feel the air, and maybe the rain. Walk slowly and smell the air and maybe the rain...... and so on, and so forth. It's all good for you and science agrees, so you're not a weirdo for wanting to touch a tree or walk barefoot in the grass. If you've never read any of these "get back to nature" self-help books before you might find this useful (hence to two stars instead if one). But don't get too into it all because although the author promises follow up courses (one at least online) if you manage to find any trace of them (or him) on your computer you'll have had better luck than me.
