Easy and challenging
Bought this for my 9mo old gr-baby for Christmas. She loved it. She could turn and remove the gears easily. It kept her interest for a few minutes which is about what I expected. Fast forward 8mo and she is still fascinated by it.It’s fun to play with, very well made, the colors are bold and eye catching, and best of all, there is much to be learned from this little toy. Also, the price is fantastic for what you get.I expect she will play with it for a couple more years at least. Another big plus for me is that it isn’t digital. It has no screen or power supply. It doesn’t have lights or play music. It’s just an investigative and imaginative toy that will last for a long time.I highly recommend this toy for any young child.

Engaging Toy!
When i first opened this toy but my 4 year old and my 17 month old were immediately engaged ! The beautiful bright colors got their attention and my 4 year old found it funny that it was a caterpillar. My 17 month old loved roating the gears. I love the cause and effect relationship that this toy teaches and how the kids can manipulate the gears to put them in different orders. This kept their attention for awhile so definitely a worthwhile purchase!

Great toy!
My baby LOVES gears so we got this. It's beautifully made and seems durable. Great for her mind too! I'll definitely get more Melissa and Doug stuff!

Great Sensory toy!
Purchased this toy due to my son liking spinning toys. This toy assists my son in de-escalating when upset. It also assists him in matching the colored gear. However, the gears can be placed in any order, which my son loves as well!

Baby loves it
The baby lives it despite not being at the age range it is listed for. It's a great toy.

Good Toy for Fine Motor and Color Matching
This is a toy we bought for our handsome little man to work with him on his fine motor skills (he has delays) and to start working on matching and sorting by colors (because the gear pegs are the same color as their gear, so we originally had him just getting the gears on anywhere, them moved him up to getting the gears on the right color pegs).I think the toy is well made, and from the standpoint of what we were using it for, I think it worked fine. And because our son loves to make things form a line of some sort, he found it to be a more motivating fine motor toy.My only reason for taking a star would be that because of the simplicity of the gear line up, I am personally not sure it would hold the interest of your average typical functioning toddlers for very long. But as a mom of a boy with some more specialized challenges who is very motivated by bright colors and things he can line up and put away, I was very happy with it and what he was able to get out of it.

Great gift idea
This is well made not cheap materials. Great learning for colors, and shape. But to grasp the top to pick up is hard for little ones because there isn’t much to grab. They need to grab it around the sides. My 18month old plays with it. I’d recommend it.

Exactly as Presented
This was a gift for our ten-month old grandchild, and he loves and plays with it each day! The colors are bright and attractive, and the gears easily work together-no frustration for little fingers.
