It rains a lot in FL and this helps us keep track better than the local news on how much rain has really fallen. I recommend this to anyone who follows their local weather as well as do you need to water your outdoor plants or lawn.

This is a very good and accurate rain gauge. This is the third one I've owned. The first was left full of water during very cold weather and froze and cracked. The second one had the top funnel fly away in a big wind storm. This third one has a funnel top section that seems to be better secured to the collection tube. This one did not come with a hanging bracket, but I had the one that came with previous gauges.

I Bought it for my husband as a Father’s Day present. I bought it as areplacement rain gauge. He is very pleased with it. It is easy to see the rain that was collected and the numbers. This is the second one that we have purchased. Highly recommend it.

The rain gauge is very well made, easy to install and has a high capacity. The graduation markings are clear and are rather difficult to read without standing next to the gauge - no reading this one from inside the house while its raining.

On two occasions that it has rained since the gage was installed, the results obtained are grossly in error. The first measured rainfall with this gage was 6.10" and the second rain event it measured 5.75" when in fact the rainfall was 1.5" and 0.9". The inaccuracy I think is the funnel open area is far too large and collects far too much rainfall to accurately record the amount of rainfall. I tossed this device and bought the standard glass tube version. Also, I do not understand the purpose of the surrounding shell with the Australian designed device. To drain the device one has to remove the funnel, the collection tube and the surrounding shell to drain and dry the parts. The collection tube is not easily centered to reattach the funnel. It is a very poorly designed rain gage. I do not recommend anyone consider buying the device.

I didn’t read the product description well enough. This rain gauge does not measure below 1/2 inch. In the dry West most of our rain storms are below that.Other that that it was an excellent product.

Easy to install and worked well!

The high precision for the first inch is great, the overall capacity is also great. But reassembly is very difficult. You have to put the inner gauge into a keyed slot in the bottom of the outer gauge, then put the top on to capture the inner gauge and outer gauge at the same time. As a old man, it usually takes me two or three minutes to get it right. They need to redesign so the inner gauge is fixed or latched in place by the top. The other issue is that if you have water in the inner gauge, and the temperature dips below freezing, it usually cracks the inner gauge. Maybe use a more crack resistant plastic?
