Great Smoky Mountains National Park West: Cades Cove, Elkmont Map (National Geographic Trails Illustrated Map, 316)

It shows what it says it shows. The name says it all. It shows all the trails and campsites on the west end of the park. It doesn't give you a whole view of the park, but it does show about 3/4th's of it. If you buy the whole map of the park, it will show you all of it in the same format as this one and for the same money. I bought both and found out I didn't need this one.

Used this map for three nights backpacking in Great Smoky Mountains. Very comprehensive and concise map. I don't understand why Great Smoky Mtn Nat Park doesn't blaze it's trails. The only blazed trail was the AT that I came across. There were a few junctions that were very confusing, especially the Spence Field junction: the signage there was terrible / non-existent coming up the Eagle Creek trail and arriving at Spence Field. Not being terribly familiar with the park made this frustrating at times. The map was dead-on throughout. Thanks Nat Geo!

This map is one of the better maps I've seen for the smokies.There are more place names on the map than others (there are a few balds listed that I didn't know existed).Foot bridges are noted on the map.High water (with no foot bridge) are noted.The elevation lines are drawn (can't remember what they are called). Elevation is marked for several named places.Hiker self-registration stations are marked.Restrooms are markedJust a really nice map!!

This is a great map. Very durable. I keep it in my backpack when hiking and camping the area and it certainly takes a beating. It has been wet, dropped, pulled, and smashed and it still holds up. Great for seeing where you are on the trail with lots of nice detail.

Just got the map today. Nice. Came quickly. Going to Tennessee in a few weeks and need time to scope out trails. I'll be studying this and at first glance is exactly what I'm looking for. Nice finish on map and waterproof is definitely what you need. This seller Omnimap gets FIVE stars.

Durable, clear print and easy to retold. I love Nat Geo maps. Be aware this is just the west side of the park. You can clearly see hiking trails, elevations and water supply such as streams and rivers.

This map like every map in the trails illistrated series is great! Lots of info, topo lines, trail mileage, and points of intrest. I have lots of these maps and recomend them to anyone who is doing any hiking!
