I was torn between a 3 and 4 star. I gave it a 4 because once assembled and attached to the wall it was better. These shelves are beautiful and I love they way they look in my office! However, they’re a little unsturdy and no matter how many times we readjusted, it continually leaned heavily to the left. We were able to adjust through tension of the screwing it into the wall, but we shouldn’t have to do that. For that reason too, also difficult to assemble. Basically requires two people. While I kept the product because it looks good and is doing the job, I wouldn’t purchase again.

We needed another shelf for books, and this one kept catching our eye. The only thing that made us hesitate is that it fully needs to be attached to the wall. Most of our other book shelves just lean against it and drill in the legs as extra support. Because it’s in the wall, we don’t want to put our heaviest items on there in case it falls down or something, we live in an apartment and really don’t want to mess up the unit. Thankfully we can put some plants on it and just move our lighter books to it, but if I could go back in time we would have chose a different type of shelf. If we lived in a home and 100% trusted the drywall it probably wouldn’t be as big a deal. It took like 30 minutes for my bf to put it together, so really easy, and it does look great when it’s assembled. A bit pricey though - $80 for this would have been plenty. $100 felt a little much after feeling the material and the quality.

Great ladder shelf for our kitchen. This was so easy to put together and looks great for the price. I have a toddler and no concerns about her getting her due to it falling over, especially since it attaches at the top and then again in the middle. Love the shelf and plan on buying more to put in my home.

This is so easy to put together my two year old niece could do it. I assembled it in less than 5 minutes and mounted it to the wall in 10. It came with screws, anchors and a safety piece for reinforcement. The “wood” looks surprisingly realistic for being particle board but I’d be careful when maneuvering it because particle board seems fragile if bent the wrong way. Seems like it would be easy to cover with contact paper or spray paint if you ever wanted to change your color palette without buying a new one.

I put it together with my son, but I could have done it by myself. It’s not complicated at all and I’m so happy with my purchase. Now my som wants to buy one for him.

These are really pretty. I would have given it five stars if parts of the wood of the shelves wasn't too black. Sort of looks like someone took a lighter to them and tried to burn them to give it that really dark effect, but it's a bit too much for my taste. Otherwise I do like the whole concept. And it looks great in my little apartment.

Way more rustic than pictured/ basically black wood.No matter how we configure it, there's big gaps between the beams/ wood.The plastic screw holder was melted and warped.Too much of a pain to dismantle and pack back up to return so we'll put it somewhere less noticeable.

This is exactly what I wanted! Neither my husband or are are handy in the least and this was very simple! It took about 40 minutes to assemble, you do need 2 people if possible to help steady it while the pieces are being screwed in. The instructions perfect and it’s so beautiful !! I want 12 more!
