Better than Fifty Shades of Grey
I just watched Fifty Shades of Grey before reading this story and this story is a masterpiece compared to Fifty Shades of Grey. Amazing story, quick read, and very enjoyable! This story is 50 Shades of Grey without the BSDM storyline, the crappy plot, wooden characters, and horrible written story. Unlike Christian Grey, Caleb Cameron is not a stalker, controlling, or have a crackwhore prositute as a mother. He is a control freak. His mother is golddigger who left his father as soon as his father went bankrupt. He has a healthy relationship with his father. However, Caleb is a dominant but he is also charming and has a good heart unless you cross him. Maggie Holland is a goofy but lovable young woman with a heart of gold also. Both Caleb and Maggie liked each other from the moment they met and Maggie's abusive stepfather Tom Holland used this to his advantage. He forces Maggie to do his bidding to seduce Caleb and distact Caleb while he tried to takeover Caleb's company by threatening to harm Maggie's mother and put her in the hospital. Tom controls Maggie by harming her mother if she disobeys him. What Maggie does not realize is that Caleb is ten steps ahead of her and already knew what she was up to. In a confrontation, he confronts her thinking that she was in cahoots with her stepfather and wanted revenge on the entire Holland family including Maggie, who he thinks was in on the plot to ruin his company. Six months later, Maggie and her mother are back in Dublin after escaping Maggie's abusive stepfather's clutches who was too busy trying to stop his company from being takeover by Caleb who is hell bent on revenge against the Holland family. When Maggie's stepfather Tom died from a heart attack and was financially ruin by Caleb, Maggie and her mother are relieved and are happy they still had the house that Maggie's real father left them before he died. The family solictor regrettably informs Maggie that the house belonged to Mr. Cameron now since her stepfather convinced her mother to sign over the house to him. Caleb suddenly shows up to gloat about taking over the house only giving them two weeks to move out. Maggie tells her fragile mother about the news of the house and her mother is heartbroken and becomes stricken with grief. In desperation, Maggie waits eight hours in a hallway to visit Mr. Cameron at his offices in Dublin. He agrees to give her five minutes of his time. In this time frame, she agrees to give him anything he wants to convince him to give her mother her house back. He makes a deal with Maggie that if she agrees to be his mistress for his two month stay in Dublin, he'll give her mother her house back. Maggie agrees and the story continues to be amazing from thereon. The kindred souls are likable and have instant chemistry. Maggie and Caleb already liked each other from the moment they met six months ago at her stepfather's house in London and their relationship is quite charming. You can see them falling in love with one another before they even realize it and the story is filled with so many cute moments that makes you laugh and smile. My favorite scene is when Caleb thought he was going to get lucky and Maggie told him not until he signed the contract. He quickly sprang after her and Maggie locked herself in the bathroom. She refused to come out until he reluctantly said yes. The next morning, he lied in bed cuddled next to her and Caleb aroused hopped out of bed. Maggie asked what is wrong and Caleb said nothing that a contract won't fixed. That scene alone was better than the entire 50 Shades of Grey movie. I really enjoyed this book. There are so many similarities between 50 shades the movie and this story, but this is what 50 shades wanted to be.I really enjoyed this story and the love scenes are so much better and steamier in this story than in the 50 shades movie. So if you want to read about a true dominant. Caleb Cameron is your perfect example. Great book! Awesome story. Worth the money!

Couldnt put it down until it was finished
I downloaded the sample for the Kindle and as a result of reading that I downloaded the book.... with the intention of finishing it later... I couldn't resist a quick look at the next couple of pages. The good news is I couldnt put it down and ended up completing it in one sitting... such a page turner... the bad news is I was at work... WOOPS! Haha, I got NO work done because I was too busy turning page after page to find out how Maggie was going to get thru the two months of staying with Caleb and living a life completely foreign to her so she could save her family home. The book follows Maggie thru to two months she has to live with Caleb while he's in Dublin on business. Caleb's taken over Maggies nasty step father's business and part of the assets is Maggies family home. She goes to him hoping she can change his mind and to keep the house she agrees to stay with him while he's in Dublin and then once he goes back to London she and her Mum can keep the house. Maggie is not who Caleb thinks she is and page after page his opinion alters slightly until there's only one conclusion left that he can make.If you havent seen A.G's pinterest boards for her books go and have a look, they help with the imagination just that little bit more. One of the most moving pics on the board for this book is the feet in the sand. Beautiful imagery.

Everything was great until
Everything was great until the ending. Characterization, story , flow, it was all great. Shes determined, he's pretty alpha with a secret inner marshmallow center. She spends a majority of her time with him pretending to be something she's not, how could he possibly profess to love someone he technically doesnt know?Other than that one tiny blip, I even enjoyed their reunion at the end, and his marriage proposal gift was sweet.

an old hack
This is one of the oft repeated tropes. Copyright is 2007, but it feels like something written at least 20years ago if not more.

Sweet
I'm a sucker for the mistaken character trope. I can't help it. This was very satisfyingly that specific trope. And these two (once they finally figure it out) are adorable. Caleb and Maggie. Caleb could have done with a smack or two upside the head... And adult content present but not over the top.

Good characters
Very well written. Both characters were strong. There was some formulaic stuff in the story but it worked well because the characters were very likable.
