Timex Unisex T2N957AB Originals Stainless Steel Watch with Brown Leather Band

When I was a kid you had to wind your Timex and there was no indiglo but Timex watches would last forever. They ran an add strapping a Timex to an outboard motor and driving it across a lake. The announcer would remove it a give the Timex slogan "takes a licking and keeps on ticking" and they sure did. Today's battery operated indiglo Timex watches are disposable at best. The past several years they last me three months to maybe two years if you get a good one. I'm a pretty simple guy and just need my watch to keep accurate time and hold up for awhile, it's a crap shoot with today's Timex watches. Guess you get what you pay for as they are somewhat inexpensive and I never saw the purpose of wearing a $10,000 Rolex on my wrist. Have the same watch for about two years and the indiglo has stopped working and I had to change the strap, hope to get two years out of this one too if I'm lucky again.FYI- the watch I ordered was not tied into the two rear holes of the packaging and fell out when opened,the crystal and case had a big thumb print across them and the leather strap had creases where it had been tried on. When I buy something new I prefer a new product and not somebody's used return item.

I've had so many compliments on this watch and love it. So many people want to know where I bought it. The color of the watch face is a little misleading in the photo because it is more of a pale brown than shown and matches the band beautifully. Love the ease of reading the time at a glance because of it's size but it's not gaudy or over big.UPDATE: After more than a year of wearing this watch to work every day, being whacked a few times and even slightly wet a couple of times, it's still working perfectly albeit with a couple of superficial scratches. The band is still in great condition.Couldn't be more happy and would buy another one in a heartbeat if I needed one.

Yes, the face is much darker than the Amazon photo suggests, and yes, 42 mm is large, but to my surprise, these two feature have grown on me. I plan to wear this watch for a casual look: high on the arm, close to the cuff of rolled up sleeve jacket. I love how the large dial feels like an extension of the jacket cuff and is easy to read. I also happen to have a pair of shoes that match the watch band.I beat up my watches, constantly scratching up the crystal and the metal rim around the crystal, and so these relatively inexpensive yet durable Timex watches have been my go-to for decades. Love the water resistance (yes, my Timex watches have survived a trip through the washing machine) and the indiglo feature (indispensable at night). I'll be wearing this watch mainly in the fall and early spring. Will have to find another watch for the summer months, something that looks better when wearing a T-shirt....Women's fashion can be tricky, even for those of us who are not fashionistas!

This is advertised as stainless steel but it is actually a "Black ion Brass" case, and the face is more of a dark tan color, not off-white as pictured.

The leather is good, a little stiff but good quality. If did not realize that the face of the watch was so dark, if I knew that I would of not purchased it.

I do like the watch. However it is much darker then the photo. The body is a dark gun metal and the face is very dark.
