I spent quite some time looking for the best converters value for money, and this seems to be it. They are compact which is great for travelling, but because the US plug comes out the bottom instead of the front, it doesn't work when the outlet is closer to the ground (which is rare). I was happily surprised that it was strong enough to hold my heavy laptop charger upside down without falling out (see photo). My main complaint is that the holes for the US plug are the same size, so you can't plug in anything that has one prong larger than the other.

This adapter can be dangerous when used with devices that have a US polarized plug. The polarized plug has one pin that is wider than another. This pin is meant to be *always* connected to the neutral wire. This is why the US outlets have one slot wider than another, so that such plug can be inserted in one orientation only.Unfortunately, this adapter allows a polarized plug to be inserted either way, potentially allowing the neutral wire to be connected to the live 240V.This can lead to a dangerous situation. For example, in case of a floor lamp with a switch, the switch is supposed to interrupt the live wire. If the switch is turned off, there will be no voltage in the lamp socket and it will be safe to replace the lamp. If the US plug is inserted the wrong way into this adapter, the live wire will *always* be connected to the socket. This can lead to electric shock and, in the worst case, to death.TL;DR: NEVER USE THIS ADAPTER WITH A POLARIZED US PLUG. THIS CAN BE DEADLY.

I needed a US to UK travel adaptor asap, after discovering that my previous one had been taken by a family member. I literally ordered this yesterday evening and it arrived this morning (literally 12 hours after ordering). I was only wanting one but a whole pack of 3 or 4 arrived. So extremely good value.
