Decent Metal Pedal for the price
I just received the A-MT6 Digital Distortion and have been playing with it for about a half an hour. At first, it sounded very harsh and nasally. Eventually, I was able to dial it in but it took a bit of experimentation.I put it in front of my Line 6 Spider lV 75. I selected my go-to clean sound for dirt boxes on the Line 6 (which is a fairly full range clean sound but without boomy bass and not overly bright) but that didn't seem to work. I then found another clean sound which had a lot less treble and it definitely helped. Then, it seemed like the pedal was cutting in and out in volume, so I thought there might be a bad jack input or output. I quickly realized that the noise gate and noise reduction fx on the Line 6 were severely effecting the sound. When I took them out of the effect chain the wavering sound problem was solved, but there was a fair amount of noise at high volume - nothing out of the ordinary for a high gain pedal but definitely there (to the point that it would bother me at high volume if, for instance, playing with a band but at low volume in my apartment it's barely noticeable). Both the noise gate and noise reduction fx on the Spider aren't the greatest but usually just muffle clean sounds and seem to work okay on distortions. At high volume, I was able to make the noise gate work decently with a high threshold of -50 db (at least that's higher than I normally set it) without that wavering and both the noise gate and noise reduction together at that setting worked very well. Of course, this may differ with your set up and the type of noise reduction that you have. Many of the distortion variations still sounded thin and nasally, but after some careful tweaking of the eq and volume controls, I was able to get cool sounds with all 6 variations. As with modelers going back to the 1990's and, even with high-end units like the Axe FX and Helix (at least from what few demos I've heard of them) the different distortions were basically the same sound with various eq blocks attached to them. In other words, the distortion quality or what I've heard described as the grind of the distortion (e.g., tight, loose, velcro-ish, buzzy, rice krispies crunchy, etc.) was the same. I expect this with inexpensive pedals but I don't understand why, in 2021, this is so with high-end fx units. At any rate, don't expect to find the perfect eq settings for say, distortion 1 and expect it to work with the other 5 distortion variations. But, as the eq blocks attached to the 6 distortion "types" are pretty extreme, you can still get very cool metal tones with this unit with a decent amount of variation with careful eq tweaks. I would suggest making parameter diagrams on a piece of paper and making several copies of them, so you can write down your favorite settings without trying to remember them. I did manage to find a basic eq setting that was okay for all 6 variations, not ideal, but not terrible. They are: 3:00 bass, 10:00 middle and 1:00 treble. The eq controls do have a wide range, which is definitely needed. The note separation on chords is pretty decent, even with the gain set high - not incredible, but not bad either. Also, low gain settings using the gain control or your guitar's volume control to lessen the gain are pretty good for quieter but still gnarly arpeggio parts - better than on some other high-gain pedals that I own.So, for $50 (including tax), it's not a bad pedal and is a bit different than my other distortion sounds, so I'm reasonably happy with my purchase. The green led's look cool and it doesn't take up much room on your pedal board. Remember that there is no battery compartment - you can only use the standard neg tip/pos ring power adapter.

Just me??
Was good little distortion pedal for its price, worked on its own. Maybe it was just bad luck on my part but when i plugged it into my pedal board it caused the whole lineup to short out. When I reset it all the distortion pedal was the only one that didn't work afterwards. The brand is good don't get me wrong, I have an overdrive pedal from the same makers and its still working a year later.
