Good bit but be patient in your work.
It definitely does appear that this is the same bit that other online retailers offer for milling out lowers. I found it cut well but was relatively fragile. On any router this will be rotating at an incredible rate, so remember to make small cuts in a clockwise motion. I was in too much of a hurry and moved counter clockwise without thinking and broke a tooth off. To it's credit, even with one tooth gone this bit still cut very effectively. Don't forget to use cutting oil.Buying them on amazon they're about half the price of the others I've seen. I'd recommend buying two so that if you mess the first one up you'll have a replacement handy to move forward with lessons learned. Milling takes practice, especially with a hand router. Don't expect to know all the tricks the first time.

Made in the USA strong.
I will buy US products every chance I can. for 2 reasons #1 US jobs #2 the carbide is better than China carbide. So that's a win win for me. The cutting is very good on the endmill. chips fly away from it easy with very little sticking. A little cut oil and I never have chips stick at all. And I have yet to have a endmill from this maker become a broken endmill. I have a box full of China endmills broken.

Good for lower
This is dimentionally correct to replace my 80arms bit except the fact that its four flute instead of three. I reduced my router speed because it is suppose to be slower with 4 flute but ended back up at same speed i run 3 flute at to get good performance. Probably a lack of horsepower when power to router turned down. Finished 2 pieces without issue with this bit. 3 flute is correct flutes for aluminum but this is good. I broke my 3 flute by going with a deeper cut, patience, patience. I found my limit: a max of 1/16 or break bit, i'm sticking with 3/64ths. Did i say, patience. Anyways this bit will work for a lower.

Started off okay....
Using this on 7075 aluminum project, everything seemed really great. When adjusting the cutting depth I inspected the flutes and noticed that one of the cutting ends had chipped off. This is not a big deal to me, however, by the end of the project all of the End Mill flutes had something chipped off of them and the bit was nearly ruined. I was using plenty of spray-on lubrication, but this bit didn't even last half as long as my last one. It did get hot during the process, but not to the point where I would think it would have caused it to break off. I would probably order it again if I had to, but I will try a different one next time see how that works. When using this bit take it slow, use plenty of lubrication and keep it cool and maybe it may last longer but who knows....

Made in USA, Excellent Quality, Great Price!
I used this in my router to mill out some 7075 hardened aluminum. I needed to mill out a significant well with smooth vertical sides and a flat, smooth base. This was the perfect piece for that. It worked very smoothly and was able to be used for a good amount of time before it became even slightly dull. I definitely prefer to purchase American made products and I love that this level of precision and quality at such a fair price was all available in this one product. I would not hesitate to buy this or other products from Kodiak Cutting Tools.

Excellent
Excellent! As others have hinted this is great for an 80% type build. It's made in the USA and is the exact same endmill supplied by Modulus. All the milling in the picture was done with a Ridgid R2401 trim router. The secret is to go slow, in small circular motions and only cut a little at a time. If you go too fast or try to take off too much material, the bit can chatter and jump which will chip the cutter or break the endmill. Make sure you hold the router down as tight as possible, because any excess movement or flex can also break the endmill.

Cuts nice for it's length
The bit is long, so there will be some chatter if you're trying to remove small bits of metal way down deep in the well...But go slow and take shallow cuts, it will cut just fine.I use it in my Dewalt compact battery powered router, but any 1/4" router should do as well.

good value
These aren't top of the line, but they also aren't ridiculously expensive. Good value for the money. Used on stainless, high carbon, and tool steels as well as copper and nickel silver. As long as you don't push it will speed/feed and depth of cut you'll get a good amount of use out of them.
