The Psalms: Poetry on Fire: The Passion Translation

Not much to say anymore about Brian Simmons and the 'Passion' translation. He is wonderful to listen to, insightful, full of passion for God's word and delivers it in an intelligent, clear and concise manner.I have many of his books, I use the Psalms as a 'Scholastic' reading of the psalms as I prefer the more 'traditional' wording for Psalms, but this is a great book for a secondary understanding of the writers. Great book to have to read with the Divine Romance, Song of Song interpretation.All his books are a valuable resource for one's library.

Some Bible translations are difficult to read, even Kindle, as a blind reader. But this Passion version of the Psalms is very easy to read. The content is a lovely version, thought provoking and a delightful version of the Psalms that I am enjoying. I have never been too interested in poetry before but I am finding in myself a new awakening to explore poetry more and especially not only the Psalms but the Bible altogether!

I am looking forward to buy more! This is written with understanding & a compassion that The Message was missing. (my opinion) I not only like it tremendously but have to watch where my husband goes as he tends to take it with him as well. Awesome problem to have!!!Wholeheartedly recommend this book as you can say "book" yet your spirit is still being fed God's truths! I do recommend in the "book format" as it is easier to share or make sure to buy a fellow e-reader one as well. (my husband is a newspaper in hands kind of guy so...)Blessing & our thanks for this awesome way to read the Word, taking "religion" out of things helps me immensely!

If you are interested in just reciting scriptures without their having some impact on your life and spirit, this book is not for you. However, if you are looking to read the word whereby it moves your spirit and leaves an imprint on your heart, this is your book!It is a great opportunity to share scriptures with unsaved or new believers in a real way where they understand the intent of the word. Brian Simmons has been commissioned by God to complete this task and has done a tremendous job.I absolutely love the Passion Translation and highly recommend this book as an introduction . I cannot wait to see all the books of the Bible translated by Dr. Simmons.I have purchased several copies to give away as gifts. This book has been life changing!

The Passion Translation is a new translation that includes the Aramaic, Greek and Hebrew underpinnings of each word and phrase in the Scripture. The Psalms are called Poetry on Fire, and it is an apt title. The Passion Translation uses more expressive language than the historical translations (NIV, ASV, etc.), or the NLT. It uses more imagery and analogies that provide new depth in contemplation and meditation. This language and use of imagery make it easier to hold on to the truths in the Scripture and to unpack the deeper levels in these words. There’s also more focus on one’s personal relationship with God and its implications. My review from the Passion Translation is from a devotional perspective for those who read the Bible to draw closer to God. From that perspective, it’s a must read!

I love the Psalms! They cover the gamut of human emotions and, therefore, are "there" for us as we need them. I do believe David was a prophet and that many, many of the psalms are prophetic in nature. But many are also very practical and "hit us where we live". So just reading them is wonderful. What's great about this book is that there are helpful notes at the end of each psalm, thus expanding our understanding.

I am IN LOVE with version!! It is so beautiful and passionate and has made me fall more in love with Jesus! I seriously find myself picking it up and reading it like a novel. I can't get enough. This translation has ignited my love for God's Word all over again. I can't WAIT for all the books to be translated. Everyone should buy the Psalms in this translation. It's life changing!!!!

I absolutely LOVE the Psalms in The Passion Translation! It lives true to its name and definitely brings out the passion of the Bible. I read it side-by-side other translations as well as interlinear studies, and have found the translations accurate with wording that reflects the true meaning. This translation gives you pictures and captivates in ways that differ than other translations. I will definitely be ordering other books from the Passion Translation and can't wait until the entire translation is complete.

Loved to read this, for me, new version of the psalms. The book is compact and easy to bring with you.

I recommend The Passion Translation to EVERYONE!Reading these words (especially the NT) is like hearing God speak directly to my heart - and I don't have to figure it out! I don't have to use a dictionary or read between the lines, I just have to read and basque in the radiant love that my Lord has for me! Sigh ...

The Passion Translation of The Bible is not available yet as the whole Bible they are being released as single books of the Bible Matthew, John, Song of Songs, Proverbs, Psalms, or little sets of books Hebrews and Timothy; Galations Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians; Luke and Acts. They are absolutely amazing, this translation has so caught the heart of God and his love for us, it is loaded with revelation and the footnotes are also highly revelatory. I have bought all of them over the past three months, and have read them all and am reading them again, because they are loaded and so impactful that you cannot take it all in on one reading. We know the Bible is living and active and sharper than a double edged sword, we know all scripture is God breathed, this is the fresh breath of God for this season, buy them and let God reveal more of himself to you through his wonderful Word.

Truely this is a heart translation provides a pathway to a deeper and more intimate relationship with God

This book was a gift for a friend who needed to know Jesus's love.The Passion Translation is just beautiful.
