Coming from a horticulture professional, a greenhouse grower responsible for two acres of plants at a 20 acre facility, these rubber washers are probably the best price you will find!They definitely make a better seal than the "plastic-like" ones that the big-box stores stock. They seem to last for quite a while, even with constant rescrewing a hose on and off.I have heard from some of my coworkers that they are slightly smaller than some coupling opening and can occasionally fall out if not pressed into the threads of the hose end properly. Basically make sure you put them into the hose coupling so they are securely in place. (I have not personally had this experience, so I would recommend just double check that is completely seated in the hose coupling.

I was so thrilled when I found these. Originally I had been using the Gilmour 01RW Rubber Hose Washers (http://amzn.com/B000NCWP44) to maintain a seal on the hydrocouplers on the water cooling units for my crime-fighting super suit. However, as you probably realize, my work as Jetspray often brings me into contact with many petroleum based chemicals--especially when I face off against my arch nemesis, The Evil Doctor Driveway Spot. Unfortunately, the natural rubber used in the Gilmour washers breaks down far too quickly when exposed to the harsh chemicals used in Doctor Spot's Stain-O Gun. (Once, this left me in a near hopeless situation. Luckily for me, I had I a spare spigot wrench hidden away in my utility belt!)Now, thanks to the chemically resistant properties of the Dixon TVW7 vinyl washer, I can enter into combat safely knowing that I will be able to thwart my enemies in relative comfort and safety. An added bonus is that it's already the perfect shade of red, so it perfectly compliments the gold and blue highlights in the rest of my all Nitrillium-Vibroxium Alloy armor.Perhaps the best thing of all, at 6 cents, it was the perfect price to push my purchases over the $35 free shipping limit, thus saving me roughly $10 on another purchase.

the factory rings never last more than a season it would seem, so these are the perfect fix to stop those inevitable leaks.

Compared these to three other top Amazon offerings and these came out the best. Best price (even at the 25 pack size, the 100 is even better). Second, these have the largest I.D. (inside diameter), which is important for rain barrel applications (most flow). Third, the durometer is just right; the Gilmours are too soft, and deform and close off the opening. The "World's Best" are too pricey (but work great).

Very good high quality full sized washers.Time will tell but I feel like these will last more than a couple of seasons.These were pretty inexpensive but are miles above cheap washers.It might seem silly to rave about hose washers but once you've used undersized or inferior ones that you have to replace every year, you'll be glad you bought these.

I wish local hardware stores would sell these hose washers for comparably low price, but they prefer to charge almost as much for only one or two. We lose hose washers regularly, so when we found this 25-pack on amazon.com for less than two bucks (with great reviews) we realized that we hit the jackpot!We still have most of the original 25 (haven't lost too many yet) but we'll be buying more the next time we place another Amazon order ... just to make sure we always have more on hand.

This tiny little valve thing worked perfectly getting my shopping cart from 24.94 to exactly 25 dollars and qualifying my order for amazon prime shipping (or super-saver shipping if that's what your into).The actual thing is tiny and light so it is really convenient to throw out as it hardly takes up any space in your trash can. One downside is that you do feel a considerable pang of guilt as I'm sure it was manufactured with love and care and now it has a 1-way ticket directly to a landfill.

Don't buy these, they are junk. The OD is too big and you have to use a screw driver or something to force it in place. The ID is to big so it can't seal things, like my pressure tester, that a typical flat hose washer can. Removing the dang thing was a pain in the neck due to it's being oversize. I'm returning them on principle, since it's hardly worth the postage.
