ASURION4 Year Housewares Protection Plan (for Products with a Price Between $600 - $699.99)

Purchased a $700 portable AC unit from Amazon. A few months after minimal usage, it began to leak. We noticed the bottom tray was warped, cracked and faulty. We initiated a claim with Asurion, as we purchased the full coverage. We were told over the phone, in email and during online chat (I have screenshot proof) that they would 1) repair the unit and send it back or 2) issue a gift card for the full amount on the purchase receipt including taxes so we could purchase the same exact unit with no out of pocket. A week after we boxed up the giant ac unit and brought it to a UPS store, we received an email saying it our unit was not repairable. They would be issuing us a gift card so we could buy a new unit. The gift card they sent us was almost $100 short of what we paid & they didn’t refund the taxes as we were told many times. I called and spoke to a rep in their online chat. Both told me sorry, I was told incorrect info and that the amount they issued was was correct. There was. Irving they could do. I sent screenshots of the multiple times an Asurion rep guaranteed us we would get a full refund + taxes but was just sent an email link to their website terms and conditions. What a shame. Bunch of liars and scammers at asurion. We will be filing with the BBB and seeking legal council; and providing them documented proof they lied.

I bought this for the $800.00 window AC unit. The second month i had an issue of not cooling and the company notified me by e mail my unit wasnt covered!!! Dont buy extended warranties (i knew better but..)

I previously purchased this coverage for a portable A/C I purchased a few years ago. Of course this year the A/C gave out & remembered I had the coverage. I msde a claim & they walked me through the entire process making it very easy. The customer service Agents were great & the end result was that it couldn't be repaired so I was issued an Amazon credit for the amount of the item. I received my credit quickly too. I purchased another A/C unit & a 4yr coverage for my new A/C.

I reported the malfunction to Asurion on an item purchased over two years ago (outside the manufacturer's warranty but within the longer time window of the Asurion plan), and Asurion refunded the money in the form of an Amazon gift certificate within a couple of weeks. There was no dispute or difficulty. It probably would have cost them more to repair the item, so it seems they decided to issue the refund. Asurion is definitely worth it for more expensive items (such as portable air conditioners), in my opinion.

I wish that my Brother sewing machine did not break down, but this protection plan was spot on. I sent the machine back and within 10 days I had a response from Asurion.

I’m so happy I purchased this Asurion extended protection plan. Even though, when buying I was a little sceptical…. But it proved to be a great purchase! My expensive dehumidifier stopped working after 2 years. Fortunatelly, I had this extended plan. Filed the claim online on Sunday and on Tuesday I was reimbursed/ money on my Amazon account. Do you need more from the plan ….?

I reached out to the manufacturer with no results and to be honest, I didn't expect anything from Asurian. Wow, was I shocked! Just a few days later they resolved the issue exceeding my expectations. 5 star all the way!!

I may have read the information wrong, but I thought I was buying a warranty to take effect after the manufacturer warranty ended adding four more years of coverage to my item. Upon reading the policy after receiving it, stated the policy starts at the time of purchase. I did not think it efficient to pay more for a warranty I already have.
