Great condition
Textbook came in absolute great condition. I am totally not writing this cause I accidentally left a bad review on this product when I meant to do it on a different product. Order came quick and precise no problems. Pretty much a brand new textbook was sent to me. I will now pass my course with an A this semester thanks to this book.

Competent Positive Psychology Textbook
Everything you've seen in the other reviews is true. It's sparse in it's non-text content, dry, with a lot of tiny text that's almost hard for me to read. The book is also cheap and it's a real textbook. If you have to own this book for class it's a decent textbook. If you want to read it because of an interest in Positive Psychology just be prepare for standard textbook formatting and style. There's all the "this chapter will cover" and "as noted in chapter X" tell you "as you already know" and "I'm going to tell you" which is standard academic filler-speak but might annoy someone in a hurry to get some answers.I kept some of my college textbooks because the content was good and the text was very readable and this one gets added to the pile. I'm not going to attempt to read it all in one shot but I'm going to keep it as a reference book and read it nice and slow to familiarize myself with the current academic teachings on the various areas of Positive Psychology.I've paid hundreds of dollars EACH for academic textbooks before so this book looks like an absolute bargain to me.

A really powerful resource
I realize most will read this book because they are obligated, but it is truly a worthwhile resource. Many of the concepts are not necessarily breakthrough or new, they are simply told in a clear, unbiased way. Often when I read texts, even the most academic, there are obvious traces of bias and limited perspective in them. This book is given from a perspective that is as positive and respectful as the title would suggest. It was a pleasure to read and provides a solid foundation for anyone interested or working in the areas of counseling or mental health.

Dry
Psychology textbooks are usually very interesting to read through but this one is a bit too dry in style to satisfy for long stretches. The book is organized competently and the topics are covered well so if you need a reference, it will do for that. There is very little in the way of supplementary graphics or learning aids although the personal exploration sections at the end of the chapters are helpful if short. A black and white photo of a notable contributor to the field or a corny, dated cartoon seems like an oasis in a desert of dozens of pages in a row of nothing but dense text in a tiny font and a few bolded section titles. It's not the authors' fault, but although APA-style inline citations are fine for research manuscripts, they quickly become annoying in a long book. More than a fifth of the text consists of the references and detailed index.
