Croaking Toad Statue

I bought this to put on my front porch to maybe frighten away some of my nocturnal animal visitors. I don't know if it is working for that (although I have not found any raccoon poop on the porch lately, so maybe) but he certainly isn't shy about croaking if anything moves in front of him. It is loud enough but not obnoxiously so. I'm happy!

Mr toad arrived in good condition. It's planed use was indoors. It absolutely would not croak unless there was bright light. It was a bit of a dud inside at night.Then the fit hit the shan. In the morning it went nuts...going off over any movement directly in front...side...and even behind. Much experimentation with position, winding up in a corner pointing toward the slider. Would have gladly spent more for a unit that allowed the used to set directionality as well as the intensity of motion required. It is hard to believe the reviewer who purchased one to put on the deck of their boat at night. Maybe it would go off if the coast guard directed their searchlight on it. The toad is cool sometimes but occasionally drives one up the wall. I gave it 3 stars however, some will go a 5 and some will give it a goose egg. As far as I am concerned, it is probably somewhere in the middle and seems to be worth the bucks. If I put the toad outside where a princess had access to it (for a kiss) it would probably be better...certainly not distracting. The choice is yours.

I love this toad. It is from the company called Homestyles. These are great toads and well made. I have all different sizes of this toad. The expressions are different but the quality is great with all. I spoke to one of the owners at Homestyle and this is a toad not a frog. I have other Toads from Homestyle that I bought about 12-15 years ago. Those toad are very much the same except the new ones are lighters weight and more of a dark olive green color. The The owner told me they have been improving the finish for years. The older toads color Is a evergreen. My older toad still look great. The all of them.

He is cute and he croaks, but you can also make him quiet.

And we appreciate that we can turn off the sensor and noise if desired.

I was looking for a motion sensor that emits an audible signal, to be used at night aboard a yacht at anchor, to alert us if any intruders try to climb aboard in the dark. This battery-operated garden toad works fine, even at night, croaking twice loudly until the nearby motion stops, then starts again if motion continues. Seems to cover a 12' distance, about 45 degrees wide from his mouth. We keep him trained on just the entryway at foot level. The price is much less than a high-tech alarm system for yachts. The well packaged toad arrived about 2 weeks after we ordered. Ugly but beautiful. We may order more as gifts for fellow boaters.

I just adore my "FREDDIE" yes, I named him. Had him awhile on our Deck, and he's still Croaking ALL The Time. Which my Husband is not so fond of. He turns him around, every chance he gets.

My friend had a croaking frog to greet anyone at the back garage door. It finally bit the dust and she was so disappointed, so I got on Amazon and looked for one to surprise her. Picked this one and she is delighted with it!
