Simple, easy, works! This is my second one. The first got broken is a very understandable way during some rough play with my dog involving a hard thrown ball, and to be fair it was also many years old. Not the clotheslines fault. If this one holds up as good as the last I will be very satisfied.

Sheets never smell better than when dried in the sun. The same with towels and clothing. After missing the clothesline from our old home, I purchased this to hang on a corner of my house and we hook the end to a 4" x 4" bird feeding post. The only thing that bugs me (and it's silly) is that you have to loop the line around a knob on the bottom of the case to keep the line from drooping. It's long. It droops. Beyond that, it's a great value for the money, it doesn't stand out against the wall of my home and its easy to use. I've loved being able to hang fresh laundry from the line in these drier, warmer weeks and it's saving me more than a little money since I don't have to turn on my electric clothes dryer.

This was the least expensive 40-foot retractable clothesline I could find. The others seemed the same and offered no reason to pay twice as much. I wouldn't be surprised if one or two suppliers make them all. This was to replace a U.S. made clothesline close to 20 years old. The sun had destroyed its plastic, but it performed well before it disintegrated. This particular item is its poor cousin, with a thinner vinyl line that stretches a bit. Believe the advice from other reviewers: the mounting screw heads will strip if you look at them wrong. Use your own. If you're mounting into wood a smaller screw will do. You'll need to wrap the cord around the bottom cleat twice to secure it, otherwise it will slip and your line will sag. Don't make the same mistake others did - the cleat must be used. I think you will be able to make this work for light to medium loads, and the price is right, but if you've used a better one as I have, this can only rate three stars.

Do not buy. You cannot put clothes on the line without the line sags. I tried to fix it all kind of ways it won’t work. Terrible product. I wanted to replace a line I had in the past with the same product but please d9 not waste your money. I put a comforter on it, it went right to the ground
