I have installed many alternators. These units look brand new. As far as the one that I installed in my sons Ford Windstar, it went dead weeks, if not days after install. I put in a new battery and battery cables.I contacted Amazon for an RMA who sent me to DB Electrical. They advised me that since I bought it through Amazon, I would have to go through them. I wrote a few e-mails to both parties and a new alternator showed up in the mail with no further explanation.After installing the second alternator, my son was grounded from driving for awhile so we only test drove it a small amount. A few months later we went to start the van and there was no battery power. I tested the battery and found it was not charging completely so I returned it for a brand new one. After about 1/2 an hour of driving the battery indicator came on letting me know the battery was not reading 12v anymore. (This is usually due to the alternator not doing it's job or a loose connection.) I went through and thoroughly examined the cables, connections, battery, and the alternator. All seemed to be in order, so I trickle charged the battery for about 14 hours. My son drove the van to do some errands and advised me he barely made it home because he was loosing power. Sure enough, the alternator was not charging the battery again.I am currently in the process of trying to get another alternator from DB Electric or Amazon or my money back so I can get one from a reputable source.

I bought this for my 2001 windstar and so far is been working good, my van had a faulty alternator and had the battery light on all the time and was giving me problems to start, had to jump start it more than once, after getting this alternator which was around 2 weeks ago, I had it installed the same day I received it and have not had any problems since then. The price was great, I asked in the three major auto parts stores in my area and they all had it for over 174 dollars plus taxes, plus and an extra 25 to 40 for the core fee. I always buy on amazon and had never buy any auto parts, didn't even know I could do that, I am glad I found this before expending a fortune on the local auto parts. It also comes with warranty which I hope I don't have to use. So far I am very satisfied with the performance of this alternator. Will update if anything happens in the future.

I installed this alternator and it charges the battery. Just like it should...... for several months. Now, if idling for over 10minutes during warmer weather, my dashboard Batter light comes on, when I start driving it goes out. I believe this is an overheating voltage regulator in the alternator (and not the battery, its only a year old). It hasn't done it in the colder weather, but we are not in the car as much either, so its hard to say if will do it in colder weather. Anyway, its a fair product, this car only drives 5 miles a day, so I will not lose sleep over this issue.

put this in my grandparents ford windstar when it seemed their alternator went bad. the one i bought looked like a customer return so it was a fraction of the original price. Went in easy and fixed their van took me five minutes to install.

Ordered this part and it arrived 2 days later. The part is brand new and not a rebuild. Installed it the same day it arrived and it's working as designed. Hopefully it will last as long as the OEM part did. Also, couldn't believe the great packaging - was in a huge box filled with styrofoam peanuts (was worried about damage due to part`s weight).Good all around experience dealing with this company and of course Amazon. It looked well made and went in without a hitch. They even give you a test sheet with a graph of its performance. Buy with confidence.7/24/2017 UPDATE: The alternator went bad 5 months out of warranty. This was a cheap unit for being new but I guess you get what you pay for.

I have not installed it as of yet however it came fast and the shipping was free it was super inexpensive I inspected visually It is in no way remanufactured it appears to be completely new the windings are insulated better then the factory alternator. I can only find one visual fault and it is not a major one the nut and lock washer that holds the pulley on is two pieces and the lock washers appears to be off center this may or may not be a balance problem however I plan on replacing those two pieces with the factory single piece nut lock washer combo as long as the threads match I'm very happy with this alternator both the price and the speed that I received it with free shipping and no core charge I plan on doing a install and review of this on my YouTube channel so far two thumbs up DB Electrical AFD0060 Alternator (For Ford Windstar 3.8L 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 135 Amp Afd0060)

perfect fit!!! db electrical delivered in perfect condition. although part is made in china, db puts there name on it and its been working great for 2 months. much, much cheaper (nearly half) of what i would have paid locally. and installation was a breeze. took me twenty five minutes and i am not a mechanic. paid five times the price five years ago for a manufactured alternator installed. feeling a bit ripped off now that i know how easy it was. live and learn. db products work for me!!!nate
