Excellent replacement
Whale Gusher pump works great and so good to finally replace the old pump that just didn't pump anymore.

After 30 odd years I opted to buy one new plumb and rebuild the other. Both work great. Great old product!

High quality manual pump.
A well designed, high quality manual pump I used to replace the previous Whale 10 model which lasted 30 years. Not cheap but good value for the money.

This will be my second pump after more than 30 years of use so that probably says it all. I have replaced rubber valves and diaphragm at least twice and the body eventually failed secondary to corroded aluminum housing.

Excellent pump with major drawback
This pump is made of aluminum. In fresh water it undoubtedly works very well. If used in salt water, however, the pump needs to be removed every season and flushed out thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove the accumulation of salt crystals that build up on the valves and interferes with their operation. Also, follow the company recommendation to replace the valves every several years. Following that procedure for pumps used in salt water should give the pump a reasonable time span.

not complete cannot install
buyer beware. This product is listed as whale's BP3740 which is supposed to include a deck plate for mounting in the cockpit. the box i was sent was whale's other version of this pump that DOESN'T have the deck plate. so, if u order the slightly more expensive bp3740 model like me, you may not get it either. b sure to check 1st
