I'm not a fan of plastic cutters as a rule ...
I'm not a fan of plastic cutters as a rule, but I am not against purchasing them in a pinch. I bought this set because I've been trying to find the banner shaped cookie pictured at the top of the set. First, the outer edge that you're seeing in the picture is NOT the size of the cookie. The actual cutting edge sits inward all the way around so you lose about a quarter inch off of the listed dimensions. Maybe not a big deal for some, but it ends up looking sort of wimpy compared to what you picture when you think "4.5 in. cookie;" especially the vertical height of the banner. My main issue is that the cutting edge is extremely shallow. I have a cookie business and cut my dough on the thicker side as a rule. Normally, to deal with the aformentioned size issue, I would cut the cookie thicker than usual, then roll it vertically to expand the shape to my liking. I can't even do that with this cutter because of the shallow depth. If I want to make adjustments, I have to cut multiples, stack them up to achecive the proper thickness, and then roll. A lot of hassle for what should be a straightforward cookie.

Not for cookies.
The shapes are nice , HOWEVER they are not meant for cookie cutters. They are very short and can only be used as a stamp is being used for cookies. This is for very thin fondant.
