The Contract

I watched this movie for the hell of it and I was not let down at all. In fact, I was kind of surprised... By the end of the movie I found myself wanting to watch the "next episode," and of course was bummed out when I realized it was an older movie.That being said, it's got some cheese too it. I think most of that was just from the time period this movie was created in, but for the most part this is a truly polished gem. Morgan Freeman sings just as he normally does, and this movie seems to be him just playing himself (which is honestly why he's so great, his character adapts anywhere). Jon Cusack will never not look like a serial killer to me, but he plays the part of a want dad, trying to show his son the right path, pretty well.Honestly though the plot and Morgan Freeman are what prop this movie up. Without them, I could see it being meager, but this was a fun watch!

I enjoyed the Contract alot, after all it has almost everything an action / thriller movie needs.the plot was simple and yes it did not add anything new or original, but it was pretty decent and was fast paced with smart dialogue lines. it involved a single dad ( Cusak ) and his son who go out camping in the woods and thier path is crossed by an assassin ( Freeman ) who was escorted by the FBI, soon the assassin's henchmen follow to help their boss escape..and the chase begins !It had some very good preformances by both Cusak and Freeman, thier acting was top notch, a very good character build up and development, and some pretty solid action.. gun power and even some fist fights..quite enjoyable..i would highly recommend this to any action fans or fans of either Cusak or Freeman..this movie stands out from the countless lame B-action movies that are coming out these days.I would also recommend the following : if you like Cusak i would recommend  1408 (Widescreen Edition)  , if you like Freeman i would recommend  The Bucket List , if you are looking for some good action then don't miss  Rambo (Special Edition + Digital Copy)  if you want some action similar to the Contract then watch  The Marine (Unrated Edition)

Well this is another one of those movies that I have never seen before. Second Morgan Freeman is a brilliant actor who found his fame 40's.. He struggled like Samuel L. Jackson and Charles Bronson did of course for juicy roles. I guess there is something to be said about ... "Aged wine".. John Cusack the brother of Joan Cusack.. I love his work as well.. I think his best work was in "The Grifter's".. Shooting this movie on location had to be a pain for the actor's... Bugs... spiders and possibly ...SNAKES ? It was nice to see Mr.Freeman play a bad guy and J.C really knew how to handle his firearm ....The movie was okay...

Well acted by both John Cusack and Morgan Freeman. Very good believable plot with just enough action to keep it interesting -- not at all overdone like most action movies. I liked Morgan Freeman throughout the movie, and especially the closing scenes.It's worth the investment.

Morgan Freeman is his usual self but not particularly explosive. John Cusack was better than his average self. Without those 2 names, it would be 2 stars. I would not watch this a second time. I don't hate myself for watching it once on this boring Saturday afternoon. If you need to take your mind off of things and decompress, this movie is good for that. Just don't expect your emotions to rise or your blood pressure to go up because of the suspense, or lack thereof. An uncomplicated plot and decent actors but the script and direction lack any real oomph.

I didn't think it was mediocre at all. I enjoyed it. There wasn't anything preposterous like in many other similar movies. I thought all of the actors did a good job. Freeman and Cusack were perfect. I wouldn't have been so petty if I had been a critic. Critics managed to sink this film. Moral of this review is don't listen to critics!

...or the director. Blame the writer(s). We can see plot points coming a mile away. BTW, no-one in a helicopter crash that jarring would jump out and run along. It's full of silliness like this. Had it not been for Freeman and Cusack, this would be a waste of time because there are so many other movies like this that were written by actual, talented people.Consider this a study in acting. Maybe for a class like: "Watch how talented and seasoned actors can make a dreck film worth watching," or something like that.

I almost cut this off after the first 15 minutes or so, in fact I had done that when I first tried to watch it. It is slower than expected but was well worth it when I actually watched the whole thing. While there is "action", I would not call it an action film, but very well done imho.

The cleaner sees John Cusack as a widower who takes his wayward son camping in an effort to bond again.Whilst hiking through the woods they see two bodies floating down the river & pull them out.The one who survived is a wanted criminal & Mr Cusack decides to keep hold of him & hand him back to the law.The Crims henchmen are soon hot on their heels.An plodding but at times, action packed thriller. Well worth watching in my humble opinion.

Great film, watched on Prime before purchasing. Unfortunately the case was badly damaged and split in two, not sure the cause but wasn't impressed, fortunately the film disc didn't appear damaged, thankfully I had spare cases to transplant the affair into.

This is a very understated movie. A mix of action, adventure & intrigue with a great cast. Morgan Freeman rarely makes a mistake in his choices of movies & this is no mistake. It has the bonus of 2 of my favourite female actresses in Alice Krige ( the Borg Queen in Star Trek First Contact) & Megan Dodds (better known now for CSI New York).
