MinouraGamoh KCL-1 King Carrier Front Rack, Black

I have owned this rack for a year and half and the center stay snapped on me while commuting into work. I was in the middle of a left turn when I saw the front basket falling forward, sent me to the emergency room as my face impacted with the roadway. I liked the rack until that day, I wish I had a bungee connecting it to my bike frame as a back up to this failure. Now looking at couple hundred in bike repairs.In reviewing the reviews, I found two other reviewers reporting the same problem, why is this still a problem or a warning sent out.

I had my eye on this for a while. I think it's the most beautiful bike basket ever. I put it on a Sondors Thin e-bike and it looks great. Installation was straightforward, but I had to bend the bracket that mounts to the top of the fork. The fortheloveofbikes blog has a post where the bracket on their Gamoh broke causing a scary accident. I used a bit of black paracord to make a safety tether just in case. We'll see how it lasts, but it looks and works outstandingly well now.

I just love how this basket looks on my bike the wood really gives it a unique clean look. I had some problems installing it (my bikes brake system isn't like normal bikes) but took it to a shop and they installed it for me I just love it totally worth the $100

Great rack, a bit on the heavy side. Will need a steering dampener. Poor instructions for mounting, but easy enough to figure out IF you have the right type of front fork. If not you are boned. Product description needs to be better for that. I lucked out and it works great for me. I've attached photos of the mount so you can figure out if it'll work for your bike or not.

Extremely cool, and high quality rack. I put this on a custom beach cruiser, and get lots of comments. It's a bit heavy, so I wouldn't suggest it for anything other than a cruiser, or heavy duty bike. Besides the good looks and rugged build, it also has a quality paint job. I live by the beach, and have had cheap bike accessories start rusting within a few months of putting them on. This rack seems to have been powder coated with a heavy layer that is very scratch resistant. If you live near salt and sand, and utilize the built in bottle opener a few too many times, you'll appreciate its ruggedness.

Extremely durable but comes with a weight penalty. Do not buy this if you are looking for something light or do not commute or bike on a regular basis. Turning with a load in the rack will be akward at first. Might take some getting use to for a newbie.

Put this basket on my electric bike. It is very cool and retro looking. People comment on it all the time. I did have to fiddle with the bend angle on the stainless steel strap that attaches to the brake bolt, but that wasn't a big deal because I have a vise in my garage. Also, I had to add a few small washers on the two lower attachments because my fork is kind of oversized.

Well made front porter rack very strong no problem hauling 50lbs of puppy chow to the shelter on the weekend.The bicycle i have it on surly long haul trucker the mounting was made to fit by drilling a few holes two on the down arms and two in the small flat ends of down arms for fender braces. The size is just right for two cloth shopping bags.
