These are excellent seeds and surprisingly easy to germinate. The only downside is that you need to purchase 40 at a time (minimum order quantity is 2 packs of 20 seeds each), which is too much for most people. I have tried with 5 seeds and 4 have germinated so far.For faster germination, grind away the seed coat on the end that has a slight point using sandpaper or a nail file till you begin to see the light portion inside. My advise is to err on the side of caution: stop as soon as the white portion is faintly visible. The idea is to help break seed dormancy faster. I also advise using warm water for germination (should not be hot, or the seedlings will die). Change the water daily. Transfer to a bigger pot/dish with some clay when leaves emerge. Most sources advise using pond water/rain water for germination. I used normal tap water and the seeds germinated just fine.

The lotus shell was quite hard, hence soaked them in water for few days and then clipped the top portion to reveal the cotyledons.Once that was done the seeds were germinated within 2 days.The pic shows growth after 10+ days

Just follow the instructions.. good quality seeds.
