Versatile and functional!
Just what I needed! My 5 year old has an affinity for climbing on the back of our couch, much to the dismay of the cushions. After trying fabric Velcro and a staple gun, nothing was repairing the 90 degree rip he made. These little tacks had it as good as new in no time! You do need a hammer to fasten it securely. Now that the couch was fixed, the question was could I use the remaining taxes on anything else? Turns out, they were the perfect solution for canvas portraits that had gotten bent out of shape from the glue melting!I’m so happy with the results and can’t wait to find something else to use them on!

Good buy
After reading several reviews on furniture tacs I went with these. Followed instructions others had posted (hold with needle nose pliers, tap directly and firmly with hammer) and they worked like a charm. I did bend two towards the end, but that was me being tired and ready to be done and not taking the time to hold well and strike directly.End product looks great and holds the heavy fabric I chose well.

Excellent for restoration
These are quite suitable for restoring antique furniture; the finish is very close to the range of appearances of historic (early 1900s) furniture tacks and is high-quality. Tapping the tacks into place does not mar the finish at all. The edge of the cap is smooth and rounded, and does not cut into the fabric. As with all brass tacks, the joint where the stem meets the underside of the cap is the weak link, with bending a risk if the tack is not tapped in exactly on center. This is not a defect in this product; this is simply a fact of life with brass upholstery tacks. I recommend using a narrow, sharp hole punch to preset the hole in the fabric and partially into the underlying wood and needle-nosed pliers to hold each tack in its correct alignment when tapping it into place, to ensure perfect insertion without bending. Be sure to get the right size (diameter) to match existing tacks; these are 11 mm.

Great Tacks
I had a small project. This was an old stool my grandfather made when he was a kid. I wanted to recover it and use tack similar to the one that were on it before. I found these and a few people complained about the tacks bending easy. I used these needle nose pliers which help hold the tack where I wanted it and after hammering once to set it, I could release the pliers and hammer it in all the way with no issues. The tacks helped bring life back to this old antique.

Great tacks for upholstery
These are among the best upholstery tacks I have ever worked with.. I held them in place with a needle nose pliers and they tapped right in place. I some cases I bent the nail by hitting the tack at an angle and still I was about to tape it into the correct location. They have a nice antique look to them so they fit perfectly with my aged chair.
