Size of a piece of A4 paper. Battery life lasts me 2/3 days. Love it.
Size of a piece of A4 paper. Battery life lasts me 2/3 days. Love that I'm able to flip it into different designs that suit me: cinema mode etc. Brought this Chromebook on the recommendation of an IT friend, we particularly went for this one as it’s superfast, especially considering the £199 price tag- and does exactly what we want, you can download apps as well from the google play store so in a way it’s a bit like an Android phone or tablet. There's double the RAM and storage as my old one, the build quality is very good, the screen has good colours and contrast and seems a bit sharper. It has Gorilla glass screen protection and a much better and fast more powerful processor. All in all a great Chromebook with some great features and great for the price, we would definitely recommend this.

Outstanding laptop for light usage. Great battery life.
I needed a device at a reasonable price point that was secure, reliable and wouldn't run out of battery rapidly. Also, something that could run a wide variety of productivity apps. This does all of that and more. The Google Play and Linux support give this device a good selection of apps. The battery lasts for eons. Perfect for productivity, not so good for gaming and high end multimedia. But, home office work and school work, exceptional. Easy to use, versatile and very reasonably priced.

It Just Works.
After having previous experiences with Chromebooks that didn't have a convertible/touchscreen design and realising that my Windows laptop that I use for university would be too slow and heavy for basic web-browsing and video watching, I decided to take the plunge on getting another Chromebook. I chose this Chromebook in particular due to the touchscreen/tablet mode allowing me to take full advantage of the apps from the Play Store, and I do not regret the decision to get this one bit.For basic web-browsing, gaming, note-taking and video watching purposes, this £250 laptop actually outperforms my £600+ Windows laptop speed-wise, which I found pleasantly surprising, considering the difference between an Intel Core i5 on my main university laptop and this AMD A4 processor. Because of the lack of system overhead that you get with Windows devices, and the fact that a lot of what you will do on a Chromebook will take place on the internet, it takes a lot to slow down a Chromebook and the performance does not deteriorate in the same way that a Windows laptop will. Even with this AMD processor, the odd sluggish moment using Android apps aside, you do not notice a compromise in overall performance on this laptop. The fact that you can natively run Android games and apps (including Snapchat, VLC and Spotify) both in laptop and tablet mode is one of the best features of any Chromebook, especially on a design like this. Don't let people scaremonger you by saying that Chromebooks are useless offline, you can run office apps offline, if you download VLC for Android and then link it to a media folder on an SD card using the MicroSD card slot, then you have the Chromebook equivalent of Windows Media Player. All of the Android games and downloadable media that you have access to using Android apps means that you will not be suffering from boredom when you are offline. While it might be annoying and a pain having to find replacements for Windows programs that you might use regularly,The design is durable with it being military-grade testing alongside a rubberised feel on the sides of the laptop with a spill-proof keyboard, which is more then most laptops in this price range. Because of this, I'm confident in the knowledge that it would take a lot to break this device, not that I have any plans on doing so. Because of this, it is slightly heavier than what you'd expect from a laptop of this size, but it is still light enough to use in tablet mode. The port selection is perfect with the aforementioned MicroSD port alongside 4 USB ports (2 standard ports for data transfer and 2 USB-C ports that is used for charging) Speaking of which, the screen is perfectly adequate with just a 720p (HD) screen but at least it (unlike a lot of Chromebooks around this price range) has an IPS display with better viewing angles than the TN panels used in cheaper Chromebooks. The few (minor) downsides you get with this laptop is the fact that the (supposed) Linux support is broken since no program is able to display properly, probably due to the AMD processor, the battery life not lasting as last as some other Chromebooks (but it still lasts longer than the equivalent Windows models), although it is still good by most standards and the touchpad/screen just being ok. Other than that, this is the baseline Chromebook that all potential buyers should consider before upsizing or downsizing to another Chromebook model - it is that good, as it represents everything good about Chromebooks (cheap price, good battery life, smooth performance despite low specs, effective Android app compatibility) with little to no compromise in this price range. A must buy that could very well replace a Macbook Air for general performance since I believe that Chromebooks in general offer a similar performance level for less.

Wrong model and colour arrived
Chose the black version of this laptop. Received a silver one and a complete different model. I ordered chrome book acre 311 and got the chrome book acer 314. Completely disappointed as I heard of good reviews for the black 311 laptop. Still the one received does run smoothly and camera quality is fairly good…so guessing I’ll keep it for now.

Excellent chromebook
What can I say:Pros - battery life lasts a long time; the screen is clear and the touch screen works well; android games work*; no problem playing HD content from netflix or youtube; and the expandable storage is a bonus.Cons - *some android games can be a bit glitchy ; and there is the occasional time the android emulator crashes when in tablet mode (this doesn't crash the laptop though).Overall - excellent value for money and ideal as my nine year old first laptop. So good in fact i am hoping my laptop breaks sometime soon so I can get one!

Faulty hinge and no customer support
Great Chromebook, touchscreen is very responsive, fast to load, great display, but after only 5 months of use it now will not fold back from tablet to laptop as one of the hinges have jammed.. Cannot get through to Acer support to speak to anyone, and the call backs never happen. Now stuck with a useless laptop and a very disappointed daughter
