Being a Doctor
Being a doctor I did not take business class, finance, economics, etc during school. This book was great and written for people just like me. Simple, but informative. Great

Bought similar theme along the lines title because I am at the point described in here and this is one of the best so far! Very inspiring of you “fulfill” the ideal scenario here. Those in my profession will understand what I am saying here and what the author is writing about.

Healthy choices for professionals
This is a concise and informative guide to professionals considering retirement/transition. For those who love their work it is an academic counterbalance to those of us whose "I want....." center in the brain is too easily stimulated by clever and sophisticated advertisements. This is an easy read that may change your attitudes and/or approach to your life's work. After reading this, each of my sons received a copy.

Should have been a blog post.
This book is a snoozer that basically just states the obvious, while most offerings are irrelevant for any specific person/situation.

Fawcett give good common sense advice in a simple concise format
Dr. Fawcett give good common sense advice in a simple concise format. He does not make the mistake many writers do in repeating the same thing over and over again. Some stuff is over simplified. BUT overall this book is chock full of good financial advice, good emotional advice and a real understanding of the challenges facing doctors in practice now. It's never too early and never too late to plan for retirement. And if a career change is what your looking for, you will get some creative ideas from this book.I highly recommend it, no matter where you are in your career.

This book helped change my life!
After months (years really) of debate and contemplation, I was on the verge of a major change in my practice (a decision to concentrate on only office Gynaecology, and to give up all hospital practice including on call Obstetrics). This book helped me take the plunge, and I don’t know if I would have had the courage to follow through without it. When I had doubts, panic attacks, I would read another passage and feel calm and reaffirmed, knowing that my decision was strategic and not reckless. The first chapter really helped me take stock of my motivations and I felt reassured that I was making this move for the right reasons. The information on practice alternatives was very detailed and useful (particularly with regards to locum work). At the end of the day, it was just so nice not to feel alone, to know that other physicians out there were facing similar crossroads. I have also discovered Dr. Fawcett’s website, which is another ongoing support to me during this journey. If you are seriously considering a major practice change, particularly at a relatively early age like me (age 43), I highly recommend this book!
