Impeccable presentation! Fast to heat up and they glide over the hair.
First thoughts:ProsNothing short of an amazing presentation with the packaging.Giftable looking kit for straightening hair.Very quick to reach maximum temperature.Selectable temperature settings.Multi-use case (acts as a case, pouch and heat mat).Ball hinge allows the cable to be turned without tangling.ConsNothing to note so far.I have to say that we were very impressed with the presentation, it looks very professional but would also make a great looking gift in our opinion. So are they all beauty and no brains? Far from it, they are a great set of straighteners at a fraction of the cost of the market leader. The speed at which they reach full temperature is quite impressive as it takes a matter of seconds rather than minutes, and the flexibility with the rotating ball connection where the cable meets the body means they can be used for curly hair without getting tangled up in its own cable.Details and things to note (See pictures):Straighteners with a 3m long cable, comes with a sleeved presentation box, a rolled semi-rigid case that doubles as a heat mat, a magnetic removable pouch and two hair clips. The case rolls out into a heat mat to rest the straighteners on and the pouch can be used as a soft bag.Touch power and temperature control (press and hold for On/Off and short touch to cycle heat).Silicone sleeve that covers the ends of the straightening irons.Long cable so they stretch a good distance from the socket to the mirror.Smooth plates so it glides over hair.Final thoughts:Well my partner was quite impressed with these (I just really liked the kit and styling in black and dark purple). Great for use standing up at the mirror as she's tall and she managed to straighten her hair quite quickly. If there was one thing to nit-pick at it would be they’re so smooth there’s very little resistance when she’s pulling hair through (they don’t really pull at all). This might just be because they’re new but when she got to the ends she wasn’t sure if she still had hold of any hair. I think this is more of a tactile response preference rather than anything to do with the design and she said she’ll get used to how smooth they are after a while. We’d highly recommend these for home, semi-pro use and as a gift. Excellent!

Very expensive, and really no better than others, but beautifully packaged
At a fraction under £70, this is a really expensive styling iron. It heats up quickly, and the 3 metre electrical cable is especially generous, but it only has a limited number of heat settings (160C - 210C), and I'm really not keen on controls being on the inside of one of the straightening arms. These are easy to use, don't snag, or catch hair, but then neither do many straighteners costing a lot less than these. What impressed me most about these is the box they came in, which is approximately twice as big as those used by other manufacturers for similar products. Inside you get a very nice fabric wrap around storage pouch, and inside that another good quality zipped storage pouch containing the straighteners. There are also two hair clips included. I'm not sure why these straighteners need the wrap around storage pouch, because its not needed, and only increases the price. What you can say is that the overall packaging, and presentation of these straighteners is exceptionally good, but in my opinion it's a lot of show for a product which doesn't really stand out significantly from others, including some from the same manufacturer, but costs nearly double the price.Obviously with the luxury packaging these would make a really nice gift, but to be honest the box will probably end up in the bin, and the wraparound storage pouch will probably soon be discarded. So, these work well, but it would have been nice to have had the option for a higher temperature (230C), and rather less expensive packaging.

Plates glide over hair, straightens easily
I'm used to using more well known branded straighteners, and I've never used Wahl products before so wasn't sure what to expect. So far I'm quite impressed with these and how well they straighten my thin and fine hair, but they aren't anything super special.Pros:• Very simple design. Similar to GHDs, they are fairly small and narrow, and have a similar curved end and hold• Smooth plates that glide over the hair and don't snag at all or cause breakage• Easy to use touch controls• Keeps my hair straight all day; they're easy to use and aslong as you keep the plates on the hair for longer and don't restraighten the same area repeatedly, the hair stays healthy• Perfect for short/medium hair due to the size and for taming bangs• Comes with a lovely big zip-up bag, silicone heat protector for the head plates and some handy branded hair clips• Ergonomic and nice to hold, they feel and look like good quality• Long swivel wireCons:• Touch controls are on the inside so can be a bit awkward to change mid-use• Don't have any real selling points, a lot of similar brands have infused plates or something unique for this price point• Doesn't help with frizzAll in all, compared to other straighteners I've used (low and high end), I think these work well, are simple and do the job. My hair stays straight but still maintains volume. They have good temperature variation and I love that they don't pull on my fine hair, so aslong as I use moisturising products and don't rely on my straighteners for any beauty extras, I think these are great functionally, but you could spend a little bit more and get a bit more bang for your buck.
