Recieved a defective product.
I am completely apauld by the product I recieved from this company. I was charged $104.95 for what I thought was a new pair of sandals. They were obviously worn more than a couple of times previously, which like I said, I thought I was buying a brand new pair of sandals. No where were these sandals advertised as "used". There is mudd stuck on the sole of both sandals. They smell like feet. The worst part is that the back strap on the right sandal is completely cut in half so I couldnt wear these if I wanted to.

Adjustable strap and support makes it well worth the cost!
I travelled to Belize and, when I say Belize, I mean the remote jungles of Belize. In preparation for my journey, I decided a sandal would be best in the villages so I could be comfortable and wouldn’t get overheated. I researched for hours, days, months and I fought the Idea of wearing a Chaco to the bitter end. I had some prejudices, I will be totally honest. Every person I have known who has annoyed me wore this kind of shoe. Maybe I only noticed because as they blathered on about stuff I hated I only stared at their feet. It seemed almost cult like, a conspiracy I could not ignore. But after reading so many positive reviews, I ordered them anyway. I am open-minded to other cultures after all! They were perfect! They gave me the stealth of a sneaker (there are jaguars in Belize), the support of an othopaedic shoe (long days on my feet in the jungle looking for jaguars), and the ability to adjust my straps after getting into a nest of fire ants and swelling up like a balloon. Added bonus is that after meandering through moist jungle terrain, I just hosed them down and they were good to go the next day. I am in the club now, people!

If they fit you will never want to take them off. Try sizing DOWN not up. Don't buy your first pair online.
Pair one, Z2 with the new sole. I'm a solid 7.5, so I sized up to 8 like Chaco says. The toe strap tightened as I walked. Every 50 feet, I had to stop and adjust my straps. Chaco says it's a "known issue for some people" and "easily fixable" so they do it for free! Except for the $20 I had to pay in shipping and the 2.5 weeks I had to wait. And they still tighten as I walk. And hey, Chaco, if this is a known issue, have you thought about not selling shoes with a known issue that is "easily fixable?" Like maybe you could "easily fix" it BEFORE you sell them?In the meantime, I bought a pair of ZX1s. This time, I sized DOWN. They fit perfectly, and no spontaneous strap tightening! But then one day it drizzled in Seattle (that happens occasionally). Those new soles are SLIPPERY on wet sidewalks! I was terrified the entire four blocks. They also just did not feel very attached to my foot. Sort of the opposite of a flip-flop.Today I exchanged pair two for Z2 NPF Yellowstones, also in 7. Walked about a mile and a half home. No toe strap tightening! No discomfort! In fact, extreme comfort! Great support. I don't want to take them off.The first pair I bought here. Thankfully, I used promotional credit and they were on sale. I can't wear them and I can't return them. If you have never worn Chacos, buy them from a place where you can return. I bought my second pair which I exchanged for my third at a local outdoor coop.

Authentic Chacos
i have a few other pairs of chacos—you can never have too many! i think these are my FAVE! they are so plain and simple but SUPER cute. i am glad they came in a Chaco box, including the ‘how to’ booklet, and have the chaco barcode on the tags on the sandals themselves. i compared them to my other chacos and everything seemed how it should be! phew. i am relieved that these are authentic. sometimes you never know with amazon! only reason i bought them from here was Prime shipping is unbeatable! haha overall happy. thanks amazon!

Few complaints with Chacos
Before buying chacos I did a lot of research in order to make sure what size is right for me. The shoes do run narrow, so if you have a normal width foot it'll feel snug at first. If you have a wider foot definitely go with a wide (C/D) size! I usually wear an 8 in everyday shoes, but ordered a 7 and they couldn't fit better. The arch support feels great at first but they do start to hurt if you're not used to the curve, and once they're broken in more they should be fine. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the adjustable straps are difficult to pull and make it hard to tighten and loosen the fit. Over time I expect them to become easier to adjust. Overall I expect to be wearing these as much as I can!
