Gibson Soho Lounge Soho Lounge Matte Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 (16pcs), Two-Tone Black

A lot of small defects and imperfections- bubbles and lumps in the glaze, some present and some popped. Exchanged for a replacement set and the replacement set had many of the same issues. I've returned the replacements and will look elsewhere.They look very cool, but for what I paid there should not be so many defects that I couldn't make one good set out of two. There should certainly not be defects that give me pause to put them in the dishwasher (a couple pieces had large bubbles). Good customer service, fast exchange cross-shipment, and a painless return are why this got two stars instead of one.These would be great if QC were up to snuff.

My husband and I spent a long time finding a set we both agreeed on and thought might last us a decent amount of time. Sadly these dishes chip like crazy. Even to the point of me eating a meal and thinking that glass was in the food we ordered. Nope it was a chip from the plate. The dish set I got from family dollar is more durable than these. :-/ We were so excited but about finally getting a real set of dishes and these looks great. Very pretty it’s just not functional. If you have kids defiantly a no too. I’m just about to the point of tossing what’s left and buying some cheap set from a thrift store. It would be better quality than these.

First lets start with the broken dishes. I ordered 2 sets. One set arrived in a factory box. Inside that box was the box of dishes surrounded by bubble wrap. Not a single broken dish. 2nd box has a piece of brown paper on one side. No protection at all. Every single bowl was destroyed and some others. I think it was a return and it got shipped back out to me. No big deal though Amazon has my back. Before I even returned them Amazon sent a new set. Great. New set gets here in factory box and 2 broken mugs. Thank god it was the mugs. I don't need them and not worth sending the whole thing back for.Now lets get to the actual dishes that are not broken. They are just ok. Quality control is obviously not a strong point for this company. The dishes are glazed and I expect some pitting and blemishes. What I don't expect is almost every single one to have Paint/glaze globs and runs and uneven finishes. I would say it's a fluke but I have had 3 set so far and they all have the same problems.If you are going to use them for just every day dishes and you don't care what they look like up close, and you are also ok with probably having to return them at least once then I say go ahead. I know this taught me to never buy dishes online again.

I think these are beautiful! Granted I just got them so I don't know how they will hold up., but my cereal tastes great and I look good eating it!Wish they had put more effort into shipping. Two of my dinner plates were broken on arrival and I was shocked more were not destroyed. I'm not going to send back everything just to get these two replaced. But it doesn't feel good that I can't even contact the company to ask for replacements. I would buy again, and assume you'll get half of what you are expecting (if you're lucky)!

I have been going back and fourth between my brother and sisters during quarantine while I’m waiting for my new apartment to open up. My sister had gotten Gibson Home dinnerware from her wedding shower. I fell in love. I love that the rim around the plate does lean up, giving you more room to put stuff on your plate. My kitchen theme color is black, grey and white and I feel this color will go great. The bowls are different than expected when you stack them, but they do the job. The small plates are use for their children when needed. The coffee cups I use all the time and I love them. The amount of coffee they hold is better than some other brands. The dish ware is easy to clean, where you wash by hand or put in the dishwasher. The sturdiness is much better compared to other plates. My sister got married in 2010 and still has the set from her wedding shower. Overall, I would highly recommend this Gibson Home dinnerware set.

This dish set came used even though it was advertised as new, and I also paid for a “new” set. There was chips on my bowls, and they did not seem very clean. Also there was a fragment of ceramic stuck under the black paint, like a grain of sand or something of that nature, that is glazed underneath so it will never come off. Imagine how annoying that is when hand washing dishes— it always seems like it’s a piece of food. Other than the chips that which already there when I first initially bought them- the dish set is very pleasing to the eye. I do like the sophisticated look & finish to them.

My dishes delivered intact. No cracks, no damage. After reading reviews of people receiving damaged dishes I was hesitant to order these. I decided to take a chance because I really liked the look. I ordered 2 sets. Both delievered without any damage. Now just gotta see if they hold up to usage like cutting steak on them. I am happy with the look of them. Minor manufacturing flaws that will be noticeable to only me. That's the only reason I didn't rate it a 5. For the price, I say it was a great deal.

If you are looking for a beautiful dinnerware set, don't look any further. This dinnerware set has a unique design, and it will spoil you for choice. However, the dinnerware set has many flaws. The plates, bowls, mugs chip and scratch very easily. Also, they are not microwave friendly, and break easily. They are lightweight with a nice size portion but you have to treat the dinnerware set gently, if not, the dinnerware set will break. I highly recommend you read the reviews very carefully because some reviews are written because the customer is upset, and they are not actually giving you the facts of their review. Once you purchase the set, the merchant and other retailers have made their money, and will move on without making any changes to their product. I hope this post reaches the patrons who are considering purchasing this item.

Absolutely perfect. The order came quickly. Everything was well packed, not damaged. I put it all through a quick wash before putting away and they washed up well. They’re extremely sturdy, and beautiful. Exactly as described, and exactly as I wanted.

I’ve been looking for a black matte set of dinnerware for a long time and I bought 2 of this one since the price seems fine to me. I love the color and the shapes of it. I like that it’s dishwasher and microwave safe. What I would mention in that the white lines aren’t as white as suggested and as you can see on the picture the lines on the big plates I received were not straight at all. This is only on the big plates. I don’t know if it is just made poorly or if I got a wrong batch I don’t have time to return it. Overall I would still recommend this set since affordable matte black sets are pretty rare.

Black dishes aren’t always in style, thusly a good set is hard to come by. This is a decent, stylish dish set. The build and finish look and feel sturdy. Dishwasher safe and friendly shapes except for the bowls which tend to take a lot of space. So far we’re very happy with them as we bought 2 sets. Prime delivery was fast.

I needed new dishes got about a week ago very happy. Although mugs were a little small but that’s just my preference

Exceeded my expectations. These are amazing quality for the price they are. I looked at dishes similar to these at Bed Bath and Beyond for over $300 for a set. Highly recommend. They are heavy, high quality dishes, and they are beautiful. So happy I decided to get these.
