ITEM WORKS AS INTENDED AND IS NOT TOO DIFFICULT TO SET UP.

This was one of the most difficult items to install.1. The myDlink app requires you to scan a little square barcode. unless you have perfect lighting forget about it. I spent about 2 1/2 hours scanning it. There is no code available to manually type in. So you need a really good camera on your phone and some patients. I eventually got it to work by placing a 60 watt light bulb about 10 inches away from the bar code.2. I spent the next hour trying to pair this thing with my wifi. There are two lessons learned from this that you can use to make your life easier.A. You need to give the plug access to your full network. Do not place it on a quest network.B. If you do put it on a network where the plug cant find your phone it wont work. And it will remember that wrong network. IF you try and reset and re-install the plug onto the correct network the phone app will ask you if you want to register the plug on "the bad network" with only one option of hitting next at the bottom of the screen. IF you hit next to give it another shot you are just wasting lots of time. Well it turns out that below the next button at the bottom of the screen is another option that you cant see on the screen unless you know to look for it. While the next button is usually the final option at the bottom of the screen, this screen has a secrete option that allows you to look for another network. Finally after finding this option it works.I use one of the cameras i have to trigger this plug to turn on when ever it sees any motion. or I can turn it on or off from my phone.Hope this helps

So glad I found this, to be able to schedule the turning on and off for my Christmas tree and outdoor lights was great! I had no issues connecting to my wifi and app is user friendly.

This plug won't work with the old myDlinkHome software. You have to use the newer myDlink app. It is slow and cumbersome to use. It won't let you set a schedule that goes past midnight. You have to set 2 separate schedules. Other than that, it works great and the small size is just right. If not for the app issues, I would give it 5 stars.

Instructions say to use wrong app. The correct one is “ mydlink smart “. I used it to plug in the Christmas tree.

The whole reason I purchased a D-Link product was to integrate it with the D-Link app I already had. It doesn't. Now I have 1 app for the old plug and another app for the new plug. But, it works and was easy to set up. Pretty small as well. Still, it's ridiculous that one app can't aopwrate both plugs. One app, 5 stars.

I purchased this product after trying two other products by a different seller. The other products did not hold the internet connection while this product has not given me any problems and works great.

My biggest issue with this device is that while you may set a "timer," you can no longer set a schedule, as I have done with my Christmas window lights. I had to move these new devices to actual lights that we turn on and off with no schedule, and swap the older ones to use at the windows. In addition, D-Link has abandoned those of us who have been using all of their devices since they were first introduced. We now have to use a different DLink app with the old devices and with new devices. Interestingly, Google Home can talk to them all, but not the DLink apps. At present, only DLink apps will set an automatic schedule.
