Q: I have payed baritone saxophone for over three years and I need a new one. It is priced high, is it of good quality?

Like Rosalie above I played a Selmer Mark VI and a Yamaha Bari in jazz bands at various times. I can also say I’ve played both the YBS-52 and YBS-62 with regularity at different times. I have to echo her experience. I’ve never played a better bari sax than the YBS-62. It has all the basics covered - intonation, ergonomics, etc. But the tone stands apart. This thing sounds gorgeous. Especially the low end. If you’re serious about playing bari, my opinion is that it really doesn’t get much better than this for most players. Especially if you want a no-brainer out-of-the-box horn that won’t take a lot of trips to a tech to get things going like a vintage horn would need.
