There are a lot of 1 star reviews when it comes to actually trying to apply this decal to your wall or door and I was right there everyone until I stumbled across a video on youtube and learned some techniques that make this decal work. The video by is by 8 versus 8 and titled "how to apply a wall decal- detailed instructions - 2 methods". I used the first method demonstrated to apply the decal.At first I was totally confused about transferring the transfer to the transfer paper. As many reviewers remarked, the transfer paper is cut too small, but I found it will work. I applied the transfer paper carefully, leaving only the very top and bottom edges of the curly cues in the center top and bottom of the design uncovered. I then peeled back a small strip of the transfer film on the sides and cut it off to use over the small areas that were still exposed.After this step was accomplished I ignored the manufacturer instructions and and followed the instructions on the video. I did not cut out any of the images as the manufacturer instructions said to do. I was putting the decal on the laundry room door and the size was perfect just as it was.One of the video instructions I watched was to clean the surface with water only and to not use any chemicals. My decal ended up sticking well to the door surface and this may have been a factor in achieving a good end result.When you get to the point of being ready to peel off the film, I found it worked better if i peeled it off at an angle. I went slowly and if there was an edge that wasn't sticking to the door i would put the film back over that area, rub the area again and try again. There were a few time I had to gently peel the edge of the decal off with my fingernail and hold it down while I continued to peel the film off. After the film was off I went over the entire decal, rubbing the surface with my fingers.It did take some time and patience but I was happy with the result in the end.

I've got some experience putting other decals throughout the home, so I had no trouble installing this, and I'm very happy with the results. Tips:Make sure your surface is absolutely clear of dust and moisture.Be aware of where you want the design to end up before you start.Cut it in 3 pieces, the letters, and the section above and below the ornamentation. Start with the letters, and fit the ornamentation around the words. Note in the words where the points line up with the letters.Constantly check to be sure you're applying in a straight line.Press out bubbles several times after.

Bought this after reading some reviews. Install was fairly simple. Since I knew I had a one time chance to apply the decal to my door, I read the instructions several times. I was a bit nervous since I read a couple of reviews saying they had issues applying. I have to say, it was pretty easy. Make sure you use a credit card or something similar to smooth out the decal and importantly, start smoothing from one end and smooth your way to the other end to ensure you remove all the air bubbles.

Looks good but very poor instructions I used YouTube for help...

I was somewhat disappointed with this decal. We had trouble applying it to my glass washroom door. It tore while we were trying to apply it.
